Reviews
"Would have liked to give a nice review…from the website it looks great. Unfortunately it’s not possible to see the resort without a reservation…unless you have a realtor with you? Wanted to drive thru for future reference, and we’re interested in a potential purchase, but management won’t allow entrance."
"We live in Reno NV and wanted to find a cooler place to stay in Seotember. We came here and really enjoyed the cooler weather as well as being right on the coast. The sites here are owned by coach owners but rent them out when they are not here. The sites are good sized and have full hookups. The most expensive sites overlook the ocean but all the resort is nice. They have a clubhouse and 2 pools but not as many amenities as some resorts. You have direct access to the beach as well as several trails above the beach. They provide free wifi but while we were hear it was off and a lot of the time. They had just switched providers so hopefully they will get the issue fixed. We have ATT and found the speeds so low we could not stream with our service a lot of the time. We will come back here again."
"We couldn’t have been happier, staying here because everyone was super nice to meet including residents as well as visitors. The property is so well-maintained and the hiking trail is amazing down to the beach. Could not ask for a better location."
"I came here three times as a visitor last month and was also curious to see how the resort compares to Pacific Surf Motorcoach Estate, which is located one mile north of Pacific Shores. Here are my top 3 pros and biggest con when comparing the two: Pacific Shores PROS: 1) You can put your lot in the rental pool as a possible income source. Run the numbers to see if it works for you, considering vacancies and rental fees against gross rental revenue vs. holding costs (dues, property taxes, utilities, etc.) 2) There is a clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pools, spa, sauna, fenced dog run, walking trails with gazebos and benches, pickleball court and beach access. 3) Trailer storage is available. CONS: 1) Price is pretty steep for oceanfront lots. There are none listed for sale at this time, but the most recent sales were about $400,000. The lots that are available for under $100,000 are in the worst locations within the resort. Pacific Surf PROS: 1) Shared ownership lots are priced under $100,000 and dues are $250 per month (including property taxes, water, electric, septic, propane, laundry, landscape maintenance, gated access, security cameras). Pacific Shores monthly dues are $302 and do not include property taxes, electric and propane. 2) Beach access is a lot closer than Pacific Shores and there are beautiful rock formations nearby. There are walking trails with benches and a laundry room with a regular washer and dryer (no coins needed). 3) All 6 lots are oceanfront and much closer to the ocean than at Pacific Shores. You can really hear the ocean here! Plus, you can even see the beach and the shoreline from your RV. CONS: 1) You cannot rent out your site, as rentals are not allowed. This does give owners the possibility of staying at Pacific Surf even when it's not your rotation, which is 4 months per year. As far as similarities, both are gated and I'd rate them the same for location because they're only a mile apart. As far as differences, Pacific Shores has all paved roads and Pacific Surf has asphalt at the gate, then gravel, with pavers on the 6 site pads. Pacific Shores accepts Class A and Class C RVs and Pacific Surf only accepts Class A. Hope this review helps people who are searching for an RV spot on the Oregon coast!"
"We stayed for 2 weeks in site 100. This meant we didn't have anything near to an ocean view, but the price was very affordable compared to those sites and we had a lovely sea breeze nonetheless. Sometimes at night you could hear occasional highway noise (an ambulance, etc) but it wasn't terrible. As other reviewers have also mentioned, this campground is immaculate with landscaping and extremely clean. Our site was huge and very easy to get into. Full hookups all worked perfectly and were well located. Laundry machines were very good. They even take credit cards and not just quarters. The beach was wonderful. I will note that if you have mobility issues that it wouldn't be possible for you to get down there. The walk up and down the cliffs leading to the beach was reasonably well maintained, but the last step down was quite perilous -- it seemed to be the results of erosion, etc. Hopefully they'll fix it and there are signs posted warning of this. But it's something to consider. They do have several viewing areas (gazebos, benches, etc.) that are available for you to sit and view the ocean from up on the cliffs, however, if you don't happen to have one of the premium oceanview RV sites. All in all, we had a lovely stay. The town of Newport is beautiful and there's lots to do. We would definitely stay again at this park."
