"The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Breakfast had good options and open longer than most hotels. We had a pet-friendly room which was clean! That's not generally the case with pet-friendly rooms so we were pleasantly surprised. The pet potty area was a nice clean grassy area. We really enjoyed our stay!"

"The room was nasty. The floors had food on them from the previous guests, the curtains were stained with what looks like blood and some white stuff? There were holes in the curtains as well. The window lock had been broken off. The windows could only open about an inch which didn't let any air in to help with the stuffiness of the room. The A/C didn't work so the room was hot and made it hard to sleep. The drain in the shower was broken. Our socks were brown after walking in our room without shoes and the floor in the bathroom were sticky. Other guests were incredibly loud day and night and another guest tried talking/complaining VERY NICELY to the front staff but were met with rudeness - the staff member actually walked away at one point making the guest follow them asking if they were going to do anything about it. The staff member was incredibly rude to the other guest the whole time and at one point said, "I don't know what you want me to do about it." When I saw that, I knew that complaining about our room would only be met with more rudeness and I would end up losing my temper and leaving early which would've ruined my kids' time. The pool room is super hot and the chlorine in the air hurt my eyes and lungs - the kids and I were coughing after being in there. They don't allow you to open a window or prop a door (I'm sure for safety reasons) but there is no ventilation in there - rough on parents that need to supervise their children in there. I will say that the breakfast was good. That's really the only positive I have. They do allow pets which is nice but also not so great for guests that don't have pets because there was dog hair all over our room and in the sheets. We paid around $400 for two nights and I definitely feel that it wasn't worth what we paid... you could stay at a much cheaper hotel/motel and have a better experience. The Newport Discovery Zoo behind the hotel is great though so the location of the hotel was nice for that one experience. My husband and I would like to return to Newport in the near future (once he is healed from surgery) to have a kid-free stay and were planning on staying at the same hotel but, unfortunately, will have to look for another hotel."

"This is one of the worst hotels myself and my family have ever stayed. The place is filthy. There are dents dings scrapes and scratches on the walls—in the hallway, in the common areas, in the rooms—everywhere! The room doors are painted white and are all caked with dirt. Our room floor had pieces of food left on it and crumbs here and there—we had to ask for a vacuum to just clean it up. The shower was tiny and the water pressure was weak. Our key cards failed twice requiring replacement. In the room they have a map of where our room was—the map didn’t even have the right room number we were in! The elevator was super tiny. It squeaked and was super rickety. Was afraid it would fail and we’d get stuck in it. The pool was super chlorinated to the point your eyes sting just being in the pool room. The water smelled very strange as well. The hot tub jets were very weak—one didn’t even work. So much chorine myself, kids, and other people who used the pool were all coughing the next day at breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, they were out of sausage, worked on refilling that then ran out of waffle mix, worked on refilling that then ran out of eggs, worked on refilling that, then ran out of plates, utensils, cups—just kept going on and on. People were getting upset. Speaking of people, some of the most ghetto and trashy people I’ve ever seen—both staff and patrons. This place must have been a great upgrade from their trailer park. To top it all off the walls are paper thin and myself, my kids, and my wife had to listed to the neighbors having wild sex at midnight. When I informed the front desk manager she was incredibly rude—actually told me all the noise was their business not mine. i couldn’t believe it! Sadly there isn’t an option for zero stars. Worst place ever."

"We stayed here for the long weekend here. The room was cleaned and nice view. The bed is a bit soft and the bathtub didn’t drain. Windy offered to fix the drain and switched us to another room. This is a dogs, kids and family friendly inn. The aquarium and zoom are just near by. The breakfast was pretty good. Friendly and helpful staffs. It is a good place to stay for the weekend."
