"Overall very happy with our stay! Had all the amenities we were looking for: dog friendly, hot tub, wifi, walking distance to the beach! Could use a deep clean and some more blinds, but our stay was unaffected and beautiful!"
"Booked 2 nights at Fisherman’s cottage. Cute and overall as pictured but needs some attention. 1) Mattress is old. It’s not a matter of preference, both sides where people would sleep are bowed in and if you roll over you get serenaded with the sounds of it’s springs screeching. 2) There is no seating outside by the fire are as shown in the picture. 3. There is no curtain in the one window that has a direct line of sight to the mobile home next door. Standing in the kitchen and laying in bed you have a view of their front door, therefore they have a view of you. All of this things I could easily overlook. And I would have. BUT the management company VACASA and the local maintenance/management are AWFUL. Run if you value a company who value’s customer service and communication. Long story short, the primary key was lost on the beach. The “backup” key they provided did not fit the lock. I was locked out, with all of my belongings (including ID, credit cards, ect) inside. Customer service was aware of this and the fact that I had no access to a vehicle in a town without cabs/ride share and basically told me to wait to hear from local management who they could not get ahold of. It was 8pm, pitch black outside and 45 degrees. I sat on the doorstep for close to two hours waiting to hear back. I messaged the company again and was met with “someone will contact you and you shall be charged for the lost key”. I had to walk to the closest hotel and have my husband set up arrangements for me to stay the night from two time zones away since I had no way to pay or any identification with me. I did not hear back from the local management for 13 hours. THIRTEEN HOURS. When they did arrive to the property at 9:30am the next day, the two keys they had also did not fit the lock. It took 35+ minutes, a drill and the maintenance man having to YouTube “how to drill a lock” to finally get me in and get me access to my belongings which I then had to carry back to the hotel, with zero offer of help or apology. They immediately left to go buy a new lock so they could get the next guest in for the day… check in for them wasnt for another 6 hours. I haven’t heard ANYTHING from VACASA since. Other than automated text messages telling me they hope o enjoyed my stay and asking me to rate my stay. No talk of reimbursement or apology."
