"When we initially made our decisions regarding care and birth location, OCBC was not yet open, but when it did open we decided to switch from our OB/hospital plan to working with AlexAnn at OCBC. While the decision was not easy, what ultimately swayed us was the comforting, personal, and professional care that AlexAnn could provide, combined with the homey, relaxing, and down-to-earth feel of the birth center. We loved that we could contact AlexAnn and the center directly with questions or concerns. Appointments never felt rushed and we always felt well taken care of. Plans changed but AlexAnn was with us through the multi-day labor process and made sure to join us to do a transfer so that we could still have the birth experience we had intended. AlexAnn came to our home for all the post-natal care, including at-home visits to check on the baby. Now, we look forward to meeting other new parents at the birth center at the various events they host, such as the walk-in baby clinic and classes like infant massage. We are so glad to have such a wonderful resource in our area."
"This was our first Birth Center experience and it was far better than we could have imagined thanks to AlexAnn (the midwife who delivered our baby) and her wonderful team. We wanted our children to be a part of the birth, but this was impossible due to ridiculous hospital policies in the wake of the plandemic. It was clean, and homey, and all staff were very welcoming. They had books and toys for kids in waiting, and a kitchen with snacks. The birthing rooms also had baths for a water delivery if you choose. We stayed only about 7 hours after the birth and were cleared to go home. She did a home visit checkup the next day and on day three. All our questions have been promptly answered via text throughout, especially concerns about our newborn. AlexAnn even did research as needed to answer our questions and provide additional resources. Always consult with your doctor, but if you have a low risk pregnancy, we cannot recommend Our Community Birth Center strongly enough. It was my wife's doctor who actually recommended them, and my coworker also spoke highly of AlexAnn."
"I have been a client of AlexAnn's for many years. She is a kind, compassionate, and no-nonsense caregiver. I am glad to receive my gynecological care at the birth center, where midwives provide empowering care that doesn't feel "medical." She really listens. The environment at the birth center is peaceful and home-like. It doesn't feel like a medical office, and children and babies (and all of their behaviors) are welcome and loved there. I highly recommend Our Community Birth Center for anyone who needs gynecological care, at any stage of life."
"Alexanne was my midwife during my 3rd child's pregnancy and delivered him. She was wonderfully empathic, caring, and always seemed to have the answer for the next step. She listened to me and helped make a collective decision together during my care and in the heat of the moment, I could trust her completely to make the best recommendation. I recently received care from her at the new birth center (Our Community Birth Center). You can tell this was a labor of love, but she also was very thorough and really LISTENED to me. If you want annual women's care from someone who is thorough and cares, then you need to go here!"
"When my son was born in 2017 the midwife AlexAnn was on call and she was the amazing person who kept me calm and monitored my progress over the phone, all throughout the night. Her supportive, calm, and measured care helped set me up for a successful birth at the birth center the next evening! I would recommend midwife centered prenatal and birth services at Our Community Birth Center to any birthing parent wishing to have a high quality low intervention birth experience."
