"Ordered a single desk mat in September. Estimated ship time 2-3 weeks. Now’s it’s December and I have heard that there was delay in production, then it got lost in the mail, one thing after another. Customer support asked if I would like an alternative. I said sure. Another 2 weeks pass… silence. Initially really excited about this company but they seem to continually drop the ball. This is a simple desk mat and should not take 3+ months to arrive despite the companies small size. Be warned when purchasing you may wait a long time for your product. As of today, I still don’t have the product I purchased."
"This company sucks. Badly made products with cheap materials and strong chemicals. NEVER BUY their matte desk mats. Check Reddit comments, extreme chemical smell full of TVOCs that never goes away. I did multiple tests using multiple sensors with a control and the desk mat was the culprit. The only thing they have is good graphic designers and photographers to attract unsavvy customers. Their returns department is a joke, don't expect to get your money back in a timely manner."
"Disappointing experience with Grovemade. I wouldn't recommend folks do business with them especially considering they market themselves as a premium brand with high-quality products. I purchased their desk shelf and received a set up that would not assemble properly. Specifically, I could not find any way to secure the shelf cork divider with the screws provided. Furthermore, they recently changed the design of their shelf and the printed instructions I received did not match the items I received to assemble. I reached out through email for help. Grovemade makes it very difficult to get into contact with anyone for customer service. No phone number to call, no chat/Twitter - you sort of have to look around to get to this one email to send messages to. Email response was slow and I was told my issue probably required a set of replacement legs. Rep told me they'd send them out along with confirmation. Almost 2 weeks later, I haven't heard from them at all and no replacement legs sent. It's a shame, I would have loved to look at some of their charging stands or other products, but I won't be giving more business to a company that doesn't stand behind their work, only provides a 2-week return window, and doesn't respond to inquires for help. Spent almost $400 for a shelf that is aesthetic, but unstable and not functional."
"My customer service experience with Grove team was delightful. Ordered a desk mat that had some small deficiencies to it. When I emailed the team w/ some photos, they were very quick with a response, accepted that the product might not have been up to specifications, and immediately shipped me a new one (international shipping too!) free of charge. The new one sent me was completely perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again based on the experience I just had!"
"I wanted to like this company. I really did! They're local to the Pacific Northwest, their designs are simple yet elegant and I love wood products. Discovered them somewhat by chance. Co-workers at a previous job got me a Grovemade watch(Walnut Watch 01) as a goodbye gift when I moved on. I'm a bit of a watch junkie and own a few. This one became one of my favorites and it got it's share of attention. 7 months later, the minute indicator broke and started moving freely inside the case. The watch has never been abused. I reached out to Grovemade and was informed that they couldn't offer warranty assistance without the name of the original purchaser. As a few people at my old job had chipped in, I did know who made the actual purchase and since I was no longer in contact with many of them, it would be difficult to acquire this info. I relayed this to Grovemade and they maintained their position on the matter. While my views on how manufactures treat consumers of their products -regardless of how they acquire the product- differ from Grovemade's policy, I can almost understand it (I also feel that adding serial numbers to their products could make it easier to track individual items for warranty purposes). It's what happened next that shattered my opinion of Grovemade. I offered to send in the watch and pay for the repairs myself. The response from Grovemade was that they DO NOT offer repairs for their products, only "ALTERNATIVE" solutions - again requiring knowing the name of the original purchaser. That a company does not offer repairs on items they manufacture and/ or market in their name is mind-blowing to me! This indicates to me that, if you buy a Grovemade product, you might be covered through the warranty period after which you have ZERO recourse should the product fail. And considering their product failed in only 7 months, to have no recourse is an unacceptable risk."
