"My friend and I were waiting on our reservation for another spot and ducked in here for a drink. Darkly lit, we walked in to the sweet sounds of Whitney Houston (r.i.p) and when one hears the sweet ambrosia of W.H. you dance, and I did. The bar tender saw it... it being my dance moves, and called me out like an older sister giving you a polite jab. Bartender: "What are you doing? John: (looking around) who me? B: " Yes!, you!" J: " OH! The tunes were so sweet, im surprised everyone is not dancing right now (Bartender smiles, "What can I get, ya?" J; Whiskey ginger ale! B: "Comin up!" And scene! This was like within three minutes of walking in the door. Next song was " Lets hear it for the boys," and I started talking to another patron of the bar. Within 10 minutes, I had my drink, danced, and had a conversation with a stranger about footloose. I'd come here again in a heartbeat. And so should you if you asked yourself if you wanted to have a good time! Thanks team for a memorable stop!"
"Cat’s Paw is a bit of a gem on Division. It looks pretty small from the outside, but there is a back area that does have some heated seating. There is also seating in front of the bar outside. Every time I’ve been by, it’s busy-obviously a local gem. The best reason to come here is for the vibes. They play very loud music that is full of energy and fun. The bartender was friendly and upbeat. Everywhere is loud, so that could be overwhelming for some. There’s also some communal seating, or if you get your own table, it’ll most likely be close to another table. So be ready to get cozy! I would come back, but probably only for something on tap. The mixed drinks were good, but not amazing. I had a smoked maple old fashioned, which was good but overly sweet. My friend had a whiskey sour that was tasted really watered down."
"I liked the other bartenders I’ve encountered here, but received some unnecessary unkind treatment from one. Haven’t been back. Don’t know his name. He was missing his shirt sleeves. And seemed like a tattoo phase away from being a high school jock. As a bartender, there is a big difference between being salty and being douchey. I do miss the patio though. It’s been a while."
"Really cute bar. Excellent service. Great craft beers , even my forever craft beer hating friend found something to keep him happy. Great little outdoor area at the back. Lots of dogs. Cool music selection. Make sure you pop in when in the city. We came on a cold November Monday evening and it was awesome"
"Red neon light adds a nice hue to the Ranier. Thumbs up. Front and back patio depending where you are in the batting order that evening."
