"I really want to support this neighborhood cafe but all 3 times I've been there the service was terrible! The servers were very nice but seemed to lack communication among them-- we were always passed to someone else who didn't know what was going on. First time we asked after our food 3x and was assured it was about to come out. After 45 minutes it still hadn't been started. Eventually got a refund and left. Another time they forgot part of my order and I had to drive back but they were out of the item by the time I returned. The food and espresso drinks were fine but I will never go back-- there are closer cafes to me."
"Ordered a breakfast sandwich and when I bit into it once I got home, there was something hard. It hurt my teeth. I spit it out and found the plastic tab from the bread bag in my hand. Not happy, had to throw $10 sandwich out and hope I won’t need dental work."
"Madrona Hill Café is a nice little spot for some morning drinks (tea or coffee), food (they have a good variety of sandwiches), and of course baked goods. The breakfast cookie has basically the entire kitchen sink in it. And their dirty Chai lattes are delicious. It is decorated with nice art and has comfy lounging chairs."
"I always stop in here before tattoo appointments on this side of town. The employees are always so nice, the coffee is some of the best I’ve had and the food is delicious! I love hearing all the local banter between the employees and regular customers. Love this place and always recommend!"
"The people working were SO nice (which is hard to find). Lots of seating inside. Cool old building, and very convenient little parking lot on the side. Mocha and cappaccino were okay; cookie was good. Unfortunately, Normandie sandwich seemed over-priced for how little of the ingredients were on it (unless most of the profit goes to paying a livable wage to staff...in which case, please put a sign on the wall and get extra credit for that). It was mostly thick bread and turkey layer was too thin. The quality of the turkey was great (flaky and tasty). But the brie (the best part) was barely present in a streak down the center, so I could only taste it in those lucky center bites (see pic). Wondering if they're advised to keep it so sparse. I wouldn't order it again. But I see the bagel sandwiches get good reviews, so maybe go with those instead."
