"This is solely based off of the interview/hiring process that I experienced recently. I got called in for an interview, did the interview a couple days later in the food court (which was strange and very distracting?), but the manager said that she was impressed with my resume and what not so she offered the idea of me possibly becoming a higher position than what I initially applied for. I was SUPER stoked and excited to start working in such a chill retail environment! Little did I know, I was given very much false hope, intentional or not. I was told that "we would be in contact" after we finished the interview. I didn't hear back for a couple days, so I called the store. I was then given a more estimated time frame because she had more interviews to finish, entirely understandable! Long story short, I went TWO weeks without hearing a single thing from the manager and had called the store three times trying to get a clear answer from her because I was being fed false hope the entire time being told that "she would call me." Don't tell someone you "really like them for the position" after also offering the idea of a higher position than what they applied for if you have no interest in hiring them! Some of us are really struggling financially so this was just beyond unprofessional and extremely disappointing considering the manager reassured me that the store was ran properly."
