"Never been to Japan, TOMO RAMEN felt like what I imagine the ramen shops are like there. Not recommended for parties larger than 3, this space is very cozy and efficient. The tonkotsu ramen is massive and comes with ginger, garlic and chili to adjust flavor to your liking. The quail eggs and the pork with perfectly seared lines were the highlights. I was happy to have leftovers. And the karaage chicken was so dang delicious, too! The playlist while dining was early 90s top 100; which made this unique dining experience feel pretty relaxed."

"The broth absolutely drowned me in flavor. We got the Nest Ramen and the Veggie Ramen, and could not have been more satisfied with the filling portions. The atmosphere was very welcoming and personal as well! And I cant forget to mention the super cute house sake set up"

"Was visiting Portland on rainy chilly day and we saw this place passing by. Walked in and was greeted by the nice lady waitress. we had to order first before seating which kinda odd for me to see that in a ramen place but I guess that style is common in Portland. The inside of the place was very decorative, felt like I was really in Japan, very pretty. We ordered miso tonkostu ramen and nest ramen with the snow sake with beer. The ramen broth was not thick enough for my taste. I like more creamy broth, I should have only ordered the tonkostu ramen instead. However, the ingredients and the meat were very good quality and I love the fact they use quail eggs which was a nice addition and the sake was so good. I would come back again if I’m in town."

"The ramen was fine. The broth was well executed, but the toppings were not executed The way I would hope. The quail eggs were rubbery and well cooked. The pork was thick, not tender, and grilled instead of slow roasted. The portions are generous for the price ($18 for my bowl), but the taste is not as Japanese as Afuri and other Japanese chain ramen locations in Portland. Service was great, and decor was a significant improvement over the Rice Bowl which occupied the same space for years."
