"This was my first time visiting and came with friends. What an awesome place to hang out and eat. The crowd are friendly and the food is good. I had the burger and fries it was cooked to perfectly, and included all the fix’ns. Couldn't ask for more."
"The kindest bartender, the sweetest people, amazing food and drinks. Definitely give this place a try! The hummus plate was outstanding!! My family celebrated my little brothers birthday there last night and we had an incredible time. Their fire pit in the back offers an incredible place to have intimate conversations or boisterous laughter with friends and strangers."
"This place has always been on my list for years to try, but I've not had the opportunity while visiting Portland as it is a bit further out. I decided to make the stop on a road trip heading to Eugene and I'm so glad I did. This place has perfected the JoJo's so that its incredible words can't describe the taste. I ordered the 3 piece snack box and it was more than enough. The fried chicken alone was fresh and made to order. You will need to wait 20 minutes, if you're impatient then it's best you order ahead of time. The skin was crispy, the meat was nice and the fries were crispy outside and soft inside. The vibe is great here. The folks are very laid back and super friendly. Also the Halloween decor is fun."
"Good fried chicken and spuds (jojos). Call in your order, so you don't have to wait, and the chicken should be hot and fresh. Service is good, and helpful. The cost has gone up quite a bit, so we only get this a couple times per year."
"I don't know if this place has always been a bar, probably. I just remember it was supposed to have the best fried chicken in Portland. That was many years ago. The place is divey (not a bad thing, just something to know going in) and clearly beloved by the locals. The bartender does everything and knows the locals by name. For a neighborhood hang, I can understand the appeal. For a destination, it's just ok. The wings were fine, the blue cheese was good, the fried chicken was fine, a bit underwhelming flavor-wise, the JoJo's were huge, so thick they were lava on the outside and stiff in the middle. It's all freshly fried, so that's a plus."
