"I had service done on my car here about 5 months ago. Unfortunately one of the shocks that was installed failed. I have since moved out of state, which made it difficult to go through the warranty process. Everyone I communicated with was very helpful and, considering the circumstances, I was happy with the customer service."
"I can't recommend this shop based on my experience. I had my 2005 Mini towed in last Dec after its clutch died for an initial look over. The shop told me that in addition to the clutch issue, the car wouldn't start and likely needed a new starter or else some other electrical work, and that they'd need to do more extensive paid diagnostic work to investigate further if I went through with the repairs. That seemed funny to me--the car had been having some kind of draw on the battery, but up until the day the clutch died it started fine as long as the battery had a charge. But I figured "hey, this is a professional shop, this type of car is their specialty, and I paid $156 for the initial diagnostic work, I'm sure they took the time to look it over and that their assessment is right." I talked with Darby at the shop on the phone and appreciated his counsel about the vehicle. I decided against the repairs, which I couldn't afford to have done, and had the car towed home. Last month--August--I got around to selling the car. It'd been sitting in front of my place in the interim. I set my asking price based on what this shop told me--that the car wouldn't start, that would need electrical diagnostics + work to even get the engine running. The buyer I had lined up from Facebook Marketplace jumped the Mini off his aging truck battery and got the engine started in about ten minutes--and that was after the car sat idle for months. I emailed the shop letting them know they missed that my car's engine would've started fine if the battery had just been charged & that not knowing that negatively effected my sales negotiation and never heard anything back from them. Bummer!"
"I live in the neighborhood of Munich Motorworks and have always admired the beauty of this old building while marveling at its rotation of cool novel + vintage foreign cars. One day I drove into their garage w my '84 Toyota "Space Cruiser." The crew was so welcoming and Joseph talked to me for about 30 minutes, suggesting ways I could modify the 40 yr old van to make it more safe + reliable on the highway. Thrilled by the potential of these upgrades, I ponied up to make an appointment. It was then that I realized they specialize in German cars, not Toyotas, but was referred to a reliable Japanese auto shop. I mention this because it illustrates how generous + helpful Joseph was with his time + expertise. He LOVES cars! He's a cornucopia of knowledge, explains mechanical concepts in a ways that's comprehensible, and seems to very much love his work. A few years later after deciding I actually do want a vehicle from this century, (with the luxury of airbags), I reached out to Joseph, and again, he offered his valuable time + wealth of knowledge to help me figure out what kind of car I wanted, could comfortably afford AND he found it for me! Now I'm the owner of a dazzling BMW X3. I could not have imagined buying a car could be so easy! I highly recommend a visit to Munich Motorworks. It's an impeccably designed space, in a historic building with gorgeous natural light, that always has some sort of rare beauty hoisted up to admire, and managed by a talented + honest team. A+"
"I bought a fantastic car from Munich Motorsports and the service, professionalism and communication was indeed 5 Stars and really deserves 6 stars. They went way above normal expectations and delighted me very much. Please keep up the great work as I will be a repeat customer. Thank you so much Joseph and your Team of professionals."
"Brought my 1973 BMW 2002 in to Munich Motorworks a few times. First time was for a consult on the doors. Second time was due to car not getting out of 1st gear without stalling; had to tow it that time. Had them take care of a minor engine wiring issue causing stalling. Then they got my passenger door to a temporary functional level while they tracked down parts to complete a full repair. Passenger side door was rusted shut, frozen, they got it opened. I brought it in a third time they fixed and/or replaced the window regulators that were problematic as well as the window gaskets. They repaired, replaced, and removed the rust on the door and door latch mechanism for my passenger side door. They did other work like installing door check straps. Their pricing is absolutely beyond reasonable for work on a classic car. They did excellent work and kept me informed on the progress (mainly waiting on parts). I'll be going back to Munich Motorworks for any future issues, which I'm sure will arise with a 49 year old car. I can't recommend them enough. Ask for Darby or Joseph. Joseph was great in offering advice and insight on helping me determine next steps in my classic car's restoration process. Really amazing crew working at Munich Motorworks."
