Allan's Coffee & Tea

"Allan’s is cute, but the espresso here seems really inconsistent. Sometimes I get a really great latte and other times I am not sure if my drink even has espresso in it. I keep coming back for the unique drinks like Cloud Cap energy drinks and seasonal lattes. The Cloud Cap energy drinks can be adjusted to be not too sweet and come in a variety of flavors which are all really delicious and can’t be purchased anywhere else. The atmosphere is pretty cozy, but it’s not very welcoming for studying as there aren’t many outlets. The restroom is honestly my biggest hang up, as it is a claustrophobic nightmare! It’s the tiniest restroom I have ever seen in a public space, just big enough to fit your legs and not much else!"

"Coffee here is one of the best in town. Let me say if you're looking for a hunger killer breakfast bagel, this is the place to fulfill your monster growl. Atmosphere isn't much to look at here but I would give this place a higher rating for service if they brought your purchase to you or at least told you it was ready. I feel sometimes they forget."

"The coffee is great! My mocha is probably the best I’ve ever had, and I’m a bit of a coffee connoisseur. I also had their cinnamon roll and it was a bit stale. I can tell that when it was fresh it was amazing though! Nothing like Cinnabon though."

"It was fine. I was glad that they are open early 7 days a week, a lot of places aren't. It was quite enough that I was able to get some work done but not empty. Music was a good volume. The staff were helpful and answered my questions (wifi, bathroom) politely. The tea was fine. I got ginger. Can't comment on the coffee. Some things I didn't like, in order of significance: The tea bag was placed in the cup without the string hanging out so I couldn't remove the bag. There was no outdoor seating. The armchairs are covered in stains. The bathroom situation. There aren't a lot of comfy chairs, even by the outlets. That one's a quibble but why not have more chairs? On the bathroom: it's a closet. Hardly any room to turn around if you have a bag with you, which I did. There are no signs of it from the main dining area. It's tucked away in the employee area near the kitchen, and you have to ask for a key to use it. It's so far and out of sight from the entrance that the key seems unnecessary. I get the impression that the owner doesn't want customers using the bathroom. So overall, 3/5. I was able to do what I wanted to do: drink a warm beverage and get some work done, but I wasn't impressed. A word on my scale: 3 stars is what I'll give to a place that overall I enjoyed, even if I was not blown away. 4 is impressive. I rarely give 5. 2 is if there's something that significantly detracts from my experience, and 1 is if there's something seriously wrong. I rarely give 1."
