"METRO MEDIOCRE They do a few dishes VERY well here and I will stick to those for future visits. This is the BEST spot for a meal before the Blazers game because it’s an easy walk afterwards. The view is lovely and it is a pleasant albeit loud atmosphere. I appreciated seeing collegiate softball on their TV. Get the steelhead. Unless you’re a spice wuss, you will love it. The calamari is also tasty. Artichoke dip is a flop. Lamb dish lacked seasoning and you couldn’t pay me to take another bite. Service is friendly, but they lack proper bussing etiquette. Our table was crowded with everyone’s finished dishes because they never cleared our appetizer plates or serving platters. Water glasses were refilled once during our 2.5 hour stay. It took 40 minutes for everybody to get their drinks and put in the appetizer order. All in all, the service needs a big tune up."
"We were visiting Portland from Los Angeles and a local recommended Metropolitan Tavern for drinks and snacks before the Trail Blazers game. This is a very convenient spot to be dropped off at and then walk to the Moda Center. The wine and beer list, along with cocktails was nice. We ordered a salad and the 14” burrata pizza margherita. The salad came out quickly, but the pizza was taking so long that we were hungry/worried about timing so we ordered deviled eggs. The eggs, which also took quite a while to arrive, were tasty. The pizza had a terrific savory, homemade sauce, but was undercooked and doughy other than the outer edges. The place filled up nicely while we were there; unlike other pubs and eateries we visited over the long weekend, patrons kept to themselves and didn’t interact with others."
"We ate here on a Sun night. It was very busy with what looked like holiday events. It was a bit loud, which is why I put a 4 for atmosphere. We've been there before and it wasn't as loud. Our server was excellent! She was very friendly and quick with our drinks and taking our orders. I had the steelhead with carrots, broccolini, and a light curry. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the flavors all complimented each other. My husband enjoyed his wagu burger. We shared a vegan brownie with pumpkin ice cream. It was fantastic! You couldn't tell it was vegan. It's a great place to grab an appetizer and sit at the bar or have a full meal to celebrate a special event."
"This is a location not to be missed if you are near the Convention Center. There is an outdoor rooftop seating space and even if you're inside, the views of the surrounding area are killer. Ample discounted options at happy hour for food and drinks make this a fairly reasonably priced stop for food if you're on a budget, too. The food was good and the service was friendly. Restrooms were clean, and the access from the hotel ensures that you have a calm experience. There is parking for the hotel, not sure of the cost or ease of availability. I'd recommend taking the Max if you're able. The Red/Blue/Green lines all have a station stop at the Convention Center, less than a block away."
"A nice rooftop bar/restaurant on the top floor of Hotel Eastlund. I liked that they had a good amount of seating outdoor and inside. The bar area is in the center of the restaurant and that's open seating. We had a drink and a snack before going to our other event. The Huckleberry Smash was a refreshing drink for a nice day. The Burrata Margherita pizzawas ok, it was a bit dry for me. The service can be hit and miss as the bartenders get pretty busy taking drink orders for the restaurant."
