"I was having some serious issues with my menstrual cycle. I’m talking about cycles that lasted 25 days. And each day was heavy. I was terrified, and really thought the worst. I called the office that morning and was asked to come in for an emergency exam that same day. Dr. Albrecht was so kind and understanding. She informed me of the options I had, and collaborated with me throughout the entire process. After literally all my options were checked off and failed in one way or another, my final option was surgery. Big surgery! A hysterectomy to be specific. But this choice was not just thrown around. We; Dr. Albrecht, my family, and myself, all had a very extensive discussion about the risks and benefits. The biggest point was the fact that I was only 30, and this would throw me into menopause. Even though there were risks, I trust Dr. Albrecht with my life, so I knew I would be in good hands. A partial hysterectomy was decided, but when the surgery actually happened, the endometriosis was way worse than we thought. She made the difficult decision to perform a full hysterectomy. She told me, “had I not removed everything, you would have been back in 6 months for another surgery.” And after the surgery, she was very comforting, helpful, and attentive over everything. When I started severely bleeding weeks after surgery, we called her office, while she was not on call. And Dr. Albrecht took it upon herself to personally call my family and me back immediately. She really wants the best for her patients. And the staff there is amazing! After going to her office almost once a week for a year, I really got to know everyone. And they really care about my life as well. So yeah you might have to wait awhile in the waiting room, but once you get to see her, she is extremely thorough. She gives you options, and lets you contribute in selecting your treatment. I’m not kidding when I tell you that I wouldn’t trust anyone else to treat these issues. I honestly can’t talk her up enough. I finally have my life back to normal!"

"Hands down the best OBGYN in the Houma area. You won’t find better care. Dr. Albrecht has an amazing team and they are full of compassion for their patients. The reviews regarding wait time are ridiculous because guess what emergencies happen. I wouldn’t want anyone else caring for me. Suck up your first world problem of having to wait a little bit sometimes because I guarantee the wait will be worth the top notch care you receive."

"The office staff can use more customer service skill or something! Cracking a smile seems to NOT be something they do when I go. YES, they are professional; but sometimes, remembering the patient is human an you are too. We are not cattle trying to push in and out of the door. They see so many patients, an recently felt like I'm just a number in their books with them waiting to get my money. Otherwise, I highly recommend Andrea! She's great with understanding what you have to say."
