Reviews of Summit Apartments By Tonti
"Very nice place to live, am currently living here and security parking lot mail box everything is very good no complaint so far and residents are friendly plus pet friendly apartments, convenient store are close market and mall restaurants all very accessible."
"I am a college student living at Summit Apartments by Tonti for the semester that began in August 2022. I was initially expecting to stay at the Lakeside V property but due to a fire I was not able to move it. The Tonti staff, especially Mr. Donnell, worked very hard and diligently to ensure that I had a place to stay with short notice. Since staying at the property I enjoy they security of the access to the building and the kindness of the office staff. There is assigned parking for the units around the campus with some covered and some uncovered. If there was one concern I have with the property, it would be the lack of available visitors parking and the issue of towing. A guest of mine with a pass and my own registered vehicle have been towed and we had to pay out of pocket when we were told the spots were available for parking after business hours. Overall, I am enjoying my stay at Summit while completing my classes, the leasing options are flexible and there is minimal hassle (especially being that I needed a quick turn around)!"
"I have lived 3 years at Summit. The parking is awful my car was towed with my sticker in the window, also my truck was broken into. The management team did not contact me on concerns about my vehicles. The apartments elevator is always broken had to walk up to floor number 3. My apartment in the inside was nice. I would recommend short term lease."
"You’re not allowed to have the amount of company over that you would like if you have family in town. I had a family member park in my parking space and their car got towed. I went to the office and said I never authorized for the car to be towed and they said they have to have the visitors pass regardless. You have to rent another one if you lose the one they give you when you move in. It’s $27 and you have to return it in 7days. It sucks because I’m paying rent that’s not cheap and I feel like I’m basically paying for my parking space. I shouldn’t have to have my company place a pass in their window just for them to park in “my” parking space. I can’t wait until my lease is up. I don’t recommend anyone move here."
"Well, considering all the legitimate complaints I probably should have filed to try and make a difference or initiate some kind of positive change, I never did so I will accept part of the blame. Having lived there for a couple of years now trust me I speak with authority and with experience. I have often looked the other way, turned a blind eye, and pretty much kept to myself with the exception of speaking to only one or two tenants that lived in the same building from time to time. Turns out they were probably the only one or two that that we're relatively honest and could carry a smile with a good conscience. although relatively small I put a lot of time and effort in making a home of it despite all the drug dealers that live there. I was always neutral and willing to help anyone and friendly to anyone that was perceptive. I never placed even one service call as I paid for and did all repairs myself. I simply felt that it was just one more way I could do my part. I never complained about the excessive noise upstairs giving the benefit of the doubt that the tenant upstairs may not possess the concept that someone lived under them. I even remember when I used to appreciate the bass and loud music so I never even complained when I could hear it at 3 a.m. in the morning in the parking lot from a closed unit upstairs. You know what, I never even bothered anyone when my parking space was taken I simply walked for blocks. Trying to fit in I pretended that it was normal to have neighbors that never ever sleep and the traffic is as busy at 3 or 4 or 5 a.m. as it is any Mardi Gras day on Canal Street. but anyway enough of the small talk I suppose my last draw was yesterday on October 28th 2018. Unfortunately I witnessed a car being towed that belong to a woman who simply used the restroom and returned to her car in less than 3 minutes I know because I was watching too. But her car was already gone. The tenant that that space belong to wasn't even home, kind of makes you wonder how that happened.. I was able to provide that person with some information as to where to retrieve their car Etc. While leaving them in the parking lot I proceeded back to my apartment, I went back inside and placed my leasing agreement down on the table went over to open the blinds as to see if she was okay only to notice my vehicle Was Gone in 60 Seconds. How about that for thinking you're being watched. Just one thing I'd like to mention after giving that person the information they needed I double checked to see that I was in order regarding my parking pass sticker Etc. so of course I knew I had not violated any parking rules I called the towing service who advised me I had no parking sticker and my truck was towed for that reason costing me $200 to retrieve. I had checked it moments before and I know that it was there. Come on now even if it had fallen off I should have found it inside the vehicle because surely an employee from mid city towing would never steal anything from a tenant's personal vehicle right? Nope instead what I found was a filthy truck due to me, and a perfectly cleaned windshield interior due to them. As a matter of fact as an extra precaution unbeknownst to anyone else I actually put mine on the interior of the window with super glue I hate they had to work a little bit at it but small job for good pay I suppose. I won't even mention the items that were stolen out of my truck because it's only stuff and who would believe me anyway? Should you ever have to visit Mid City Towing know this,,,,, you may experience some type of deja vu because we've all seen movies like cartel land, el nacho cultura, drug wars Etc. As crazy as it sounds I would have stayed if we would have been able to resolve this issue,,,. Partly because it is a blue collar hard-working community with some wonderful people living amongst each other coming from different cultures. After Towing fees I'll be late on my rent so more fees to be added. I DID NOTHING WRONG TO BEGIN WITH ,,WHAT A SHAME !"
