Reviews of Hotel Lafayette LA North
"False Advertisement at its best! We stayed for 7 days and it was horrible. Front desk is ran by extremely rude mother and daughter. We had no room service or house keeping the entire duration of our stay. WiFi wasn’t available as it was promised in the package. There was never anyone on staff after 5pm. Our room key would randomly stop working leaving us to sit and wait up to an hour for one of the front desk people to come back to the hotel to recut our keys.Gym equipment was available but we could not use it. The rudeness of the Manager and her daughter were extreme. Please be cautious of this hotel. Anyone can randomly walk in and walk around the hotel at night because there is no one on duty at the front desk after 5 pm. We found ourselves washing our own towels at a laundromat."
"Abysmal from the start, this travesty of a hotel almost feels like it was abandoned. There's trash all over, and pretty much everything is broken. The light switch did nothing, and the light fixtures were ripped apart. The towel rack was dangling from the wall, and there were no towels in the room save for a dirty rag draped over the rack where an iron belonged (also missing). The reserved room (King, non-smoking) turned out to be two doubles with an awful odor. Everything was covered in a layer of grime, there was a dirty cotton swab on the bathroom floor, and the unplugged mini fridge was full of black mold. The television and free wifi were both also non-functional. Finally at checkout, the clerk tried to dismiss me without refunding my $50 cash damage deposit (laughable in itself as the room came trashed from the start). I was then told I'd need to come back an hour after checkout time to wait for housekeeping to verify the room so I could get my deposit back. They relented at my complaint and had it refunded 10 minutes later, but I had to insist that I'd paid cash for that and needed to leave. The entire property also had inconsistent branding, claiming at least three different names with a blank white key card. Even at a steep discount, the best I can say is that I lived through the experience."
"Will never go back. The first room we went into had big bombs in it! Disgusting. We were there for a family reunion, and everyone had at least one issue with the room. People getting locked in their rooms, plumbing leaks, key cards were always and issue. Nothing was cleaned up. It was under construction they told us it would be done before we got there. Felt bad for the girl at the front desk she seemed to be managing the whole place. Never really saw any employees. Just was a sketchy situation"
"Honestly, one of the most run down hotels I've ever stayed at. You could tell that at one time, this was a nice place. My room had a toilet that was not secure to the floor and it moved each time I used it. The coffee maker leaked all over the counter every time. The creamer was dated 7.18 and I stayed there 1.19. Bath towels were the size of floor towels (i got a full towel on my last day, but it was stained up pretty bad). The conference rooms were stained from water leaking. The trees in the lobby were dead and falling over. The floor had rocks all over it. This place needs major renovation and help. I feel badly for the place and cannot reccomend it to anyone."
"Ramada sold off this property to the local owners as I understand it. It's a behemoth of a property but is showing its age. Nice large meeting rooms. Rooms and A/Cs are getting old; there are lots of maintenance problems with this place and the front desk service is horrible. Overpriced! This motel and conference center needs a massive amount of money to renovate it and bring it back to life which I doubt will ever happen. It'll get milked by the owners as long as they can get away with it. If you can avoid staying here, do so!! It was a lot better 15 years ago."
