Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New Orleans Downtown/French Quarter Area

"The location is very good if you are interested in the French Quarter. The king room is a nice size, but the rooms and furnishings in them are incredibly dated and feel dirty. The gym is absolutely outdated, with only five cardio machines and six sets of weights. I couldn't even get a basic workout in."

"Nicest Fairfield Inn i have ever visited. Very nicely remodeled. Great location and friendly staff. Room was surprisingly large for price and well equipped. Nice bathroom and amenities. Breakfast (self service) was free and not your typical continental style but somewhat gourmet. This was a pleasant surprise to us."

"I enjoyed my stay at this establishment. The location was walking distance from several eateries, drug stores, beauty supply shop and other places. It was a little different parking to unload your suitcases, but other than that, perfect location if you want to explore the city. This location was also close to the dock if you’re going on a cruise."

"The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the French Quarter, Bourbon Street etc. Everything else was unsatisfactory. I was charged for 3 nights of parking when I did street parking one of those nights. The rooms are dated and in need of upgrades. Couch in room had visible dirt stains and water pressure in shower was super low. The elevators seem dangerous and unsafe!! They are loud and very unstable. Walls are paper thin in rooms which means you can hear everything happening in adjacent rooms and in the hallways. Also was annoyed by staff and guests smoking directly in front of the hotel entrance as I do not smoke. Restaurant in lobby is closed so you’ll have to leave the hotel for meals other than breakfast. Will not stay here again!"

"Room was spacious and clean. Located around 4 blocks from the French Quarter it’s not in a busy area. Walking distance from various places. A quick bus ride or trolley ride away from so many other places. Highly recommend as a non-French Quarter hotel. Hotel staff is the best!"
