"If I can give zero starts I would. First of all I was double charged for the room. I paid ahead of time when I got there they made me pay again for the room. Secondly, someone walked into our room while we were ASLEEP. We were two young girls traveling alone and they had someone open our room door and walk in. Very scary moment for us. The hotel sent the cleaning people to come into our room at 8 or 9 ish in the morning to clean the room; our check out time was 11:00 am. It was an invasion of our privacy and a safety hazard. They don’t know what’s going on behind the door. The door should have never been open. The hotel tried to down play the situation as if it was not a big deal. Please don’t stay here please stay somewhere else."
"The receptionist with the afro knew my name by the second day and was always super sweet. I've never had that happen to me before. She was so nice. Rooms are nice. Bathroom amenities could be seriously improved. The breakfast isn't a real breakfast. It's total trash."
"I am late on my review, Sorry! Went for Mardi Gras. We were welcomed by the front desk lady, whom I don't know her name, but she was always so nice and pleasant. My room was nice and when I asked for it to be cleaned, it was exactly that. I have no complaints. I wanted to make sure I wrote this review because I read the others before I went to this hotel and and wanted to give staff their props. Everyone was hardworking, even though I know it was a busy time of year for them. Thank you for hospitality and patience."
"Overall, the interior has a nice look and overall the place is clean. That said, there are some design issues with the room. The bed is on top of a black platform, and is smaller than the platform, making it easy to hit your shin painfully on it. The shower door is hinged to open both ways... But the shower controls prevent it from opening in. And... There is not a separate light for the toilet room, instead lighting the whole front of the room."
"Location of this hotel was nice you’re in walking distance to the street cars, canal street and many things nearby. However the hotel itself I would not recommend I have stayed at an aloft before and enjoyed my experience but this one I will not be returning. Here’s what went wrong: They advertise a heated pool but it was not heated according to one of the employees who also seemed like he didn’t want us going up there anyway too much work for him so it could have been a lie and he just didn’t want to turn it on. Next the room was pretty basic for an aloft but every time you flush the toilet it made a horrible clashing sound like it was about to break really sucks for those midnight bathroom runs. And if you didn’t hold down the handle it would only half flush. The toilet paper roll holder was not properly screwed in place and so it did not hold the toilet roll at all. If you stay here always make sure your door locks behind you because when we were coming back from dinner I noticed the light for the key card was green I push the door open and of course it opened no card needed or anything. That means the whole time we were out it was unlocked. I’ve never seen a card lock just stay green it usually flashes to let you unlock then locks itself back up. Luckily I don’t think anyone came in but they easily could have. Overall for 180/night in January it is not worth it at all. For that price we could have stayed at the pavilion hotel nearby and gotten way better service."
