Best Western Plus Prien Lake-Lake Charles

"A wonderful place to stay. Checking was easy. Room was clean The water in our bathroom coming from the face bowl was extremely slow. The breakfast was perfect. The young male food attendant kept the area clean,food stocked,felreash,and hot."

"My mom and I walked in the hotel, greeted the employee and stated we wanted to check-in, not realizing it wasn’t quite check-in time. He asked for my name, looked me up in the system and he rudely said ‘Sorry come back in 45 min, your rooms not ready’, like he was offended with my early arrival, when it was an honest mistake. When we came back, he was on the phone and he took his time waiting on me. His demeanor with me never changed. When reporting the issues with each room given, his customer service left quickly when none of this was my fault. I went through 3 rooms total. 1st room’s door would not close, it had to be pushed a certain way, upwards in, for alignment (3rd floor). 2nd room showed dirtiness of the linen and the room looked nothing like the previous room (1st floor) and 3rd room had a huge dead roach on the floor, when I called about the roach, housekeeping came in with a towel and picked it up, like it was nothing, after he said he had someone inspect it prior to us going up there. 15 min later I went back down to the front desk for some follow ups and he was gone for the day! No check-ups or anything. I pre-paid for 2 nights and only stayed one night because I didn’t want to uproot my disabled mother and travel back home late after a concert. By the time I finished with the circus of check-in we had to head to the show we came to Lake Charles for. Rajesh is the manager and was the only member of leadership available the entire time. Prior to leaving the next morning, he said he can’t change anything because it was nonrefundable. I booked through a 3rd party site and selected the non refundable option because I was guaranteed to attend due to a concert, but also the amenities and property description was a win but ONLINE ONLY apparently. I contacted Expedia and they told me it was on the discretion of the establishment because it was non refundable but that’s ABSURD, because I didn’t see any of the issues I ran into listed as something this hotel had to offer, otherwise I would NOT have picked this place. I had to escalate this higher up because he obviously didn’t want to compensate. Expedia accepted his no. He was nonchalant and repetitious with the word no. It’s like he counts on the policy with Expedia and is robbing in the process. Rajesh could really benefit from some additional training to help his customer service and management skills, might also help the quality of this hotel."

"I travel often for state business, and this hotel was okay. The breakfast setup left something to be desired - the milk in insulated canisters on the counter felt off; it should have been in a bowl of ice. Also, the room layout didn't quite suit my preferences. Considering trying another BW next time."

"Room needed a good cleaning. Not sure what was in the bathtub. Something that came out of the drain? Rat poop? Didn't see anymore so probably not?"

"Great place to stay if your going to the casinos. I wanted to take a quick trip to the local casinos but to stay at them was a little steep. When I saw that I could take a shuttle to and from the Golden Nugget and it was less than half the price I chose to book a room. Rooms were very clean and I can tell they were upgraded recently. All staff was very helpful and even gave us some casino and food recommendation. Will stay here again!"
