"Lovely place with delicious vegan jambalaya! I was served quick, and the dish also had some sautéed spinach and bread. The restaurant has a nice chilled ambience and decorated with African artwork and pieces."
"Looking for quality home cooked meal, and this place came up in the Google search. They have many options with meat and many vegetarian options. I wanted to get the apricot lamb, but I chose two vegetarian options. Yasa with couscous was delicious with the cabbage and carrot. I had to try the Bennachin as I know it is a staple. I also tried a Black Eyed Peas with tomato stew and coconut rice option, which was my favorite. I cleared the whole plate. I was so full I didn’t need meat. the bread roll is soft/good flavor. I don’t think they make it in house but it’s a good bread choice that works. The Akra Black Eyed Peas fritter with sauce was good. It kind of taste like a hush puppy, but a tad softer inside. Love the Wonjo/Sorrell purple drink. So tasty and unique. I like the coconut rice better than the couscous, but I didn’t want to get the same thing twice. Small restaurant but plenty of comfortable seating with an authentic feel. There were definitely other options I wanted to try so I plan on coming back soon. I highly recommend this place for a premium home-cooked meal at a value price with fast friendly service. It’s good to get away from the normal bourbon street fried food, Gumbo and jambalaya. When I saw the owner cooking in the back, I knew the food would be good. I pray places like these continue to provide authentic meals for the people."
"Me and my wife's first stop in New Orleans! Food was very flavorful, great ambiance and friendly staff. Definitely recommend"
"Overall, the experience was great. My only bad comment is that the beef plates, the beef was really tough...but overall, the family gave 4 stars for the food. The flavor was great. The service was sweet and the restaurant had an African feel about it. It was in the French quarter. Nice Christmas eve dinner."
"We're in New Orleans for a long weekend and wanted something interesting that we can't get back home. New Orleans is famous for many things but vegetarian food isn't one of them. This restaurant ticked every box - the food was flavorful and different, the service was friendly and helpful and the meal, while not cheap, was certainly not expensive. Cameroon and Benin restaurant with huge veggie selection. Nice!"
