"Best seafood okra gumbo, authentic shrimp creole, two balls of jambalaya. The praline sundae is as expected. All for reasonable price when searching for good food in the French quarter which doesn’t have long wait time or reservation."
"We decided to try this place as we wanted some authentic New Orleans food. It is a very rustic looking place. Atmosphere is very crammed. Tables are small and chairs are uncomfortable. The tables are so close to each other that the servers don’t even have room to walk. We ordered the veggie gumbo, crab cakes as starters. Crab cakes were amazing! Veggie gumbo tasted better once we added some hot sauce and seasoning. They were out of po-boy bread so we couldn’t order any of those sandwiches. For the main entrees, we ordered the fish and shrimp creole, blackened chicken with corn and mash potato sides. The blackened chicken was dry and lacked taste. My hubby had the fish and he said it was very good. My Diet Coke did not have any fizz so I had to ask for a replacement. Desserts were pretty good- the bread pudding was creamy, and filled with cinnamon. The pecan pie with ice cream is to die for!!"
"Wonderful cajun dishes and sides. My wife ordered the chicken and had way more than she could eat. I ordered the St Peter red fish special and enjoyed the shrimp creme sauce, crab cake and fish. The side of spinach was some of the best I'd ever had, ate every bite. The drinks were perfectly made as well. There was a 20min wait to get in but it was worth it even with the very good staff very busy. You do need to make your needs known as they can't wait for you to think and deliberate."
"We found this by accident on a walking tour. Loved the sign and the hostess convinced us to give it a try. A little tight in the seating area but the waitress was excellent and made a couple great suggestions. The Red Beans and Rice was an ample size and very filling with good flavor. The real special was the three bowl gumbo sampler. The shrimp and seafood was good not as spicy as I thought gumbo would be but still a deep and tasty rue. Moving on to the Chicken and Sausage the spice was better and each bite improved and become more flavorful a definite winner for a full bowl meal. The final gumbo was a duck and while I have never had Duck once again the more you ate the better it got. A nice lunch spot."
"Our entire dining experience was 5 stars! Our waiter, Roland, was friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the gumbo three ways. Duck, seafood and chicken with a fresh baked baguette. Good wine, beer and cocktail list. Highly recommend!"
