"My first time here , I will forever come here when o travel through NOLA .... Very nice lady helped me figure out how to order , I had red beans and rice and cabbage with cornbread , I'm a bit of a red beans and rice connoisseur and this was hands down some of the best I've had , the cabbage was out of this world !!!! This is a must try spot !!!"
"Melbas was one of the MOST disgusting places i’ve ever visited recently on my trip to new orleans. The shrimp were undone and extremely soggy, along with the bread and the fries being extremely undone. I was so disappointed and wanted a refund which is one of the worst things i could’ve done or asked for. The managers along with the “owner” of this establishment refused me a refund and begin to argue with me and call me all type of disgusting words and then proceeded to kick me out and threaten to call the police on me. I would not recommend this place to anyone ever please avoid and spend your money with a black owned business."
"Got a chance to hang out in New Orleans for the weekend.. This was one of the places that people told me I needed to eat at before I leave....Just so happen we did a tour of the city and this is where we stopped and got food ..I ordered the big turkey leg and some sides since they were already ready on the buffet line and some ribs. The ribs were very tasty, but the turkey leg was not good at all. The food that my family ordered was delicious, so when you go, make sure you get the fresh cooked food and not the food on the buffet line. The other reason I like the place is because the lady at the register messed up my order and was not trying to correct it, but the black bald headed guy got my order straight for me.. I really appreciated it.."
"I drove past this cute blue and white double decker building for weeks. So, I decided to order a Togo. The delivery destination was just 1.4 miles on the same street of the restaurant. We ordered three orders of fried shrimp Po boys with Fries. The food was delivered at room temperature. The French bread was pretty in a picture. Though it was as dense as a brick (inedible). Sadly, the protein was a low-quality Shrimp. The veggies were freshly cut on a plus note. Also, I prefer house fresh tartar sauce. Kraft tartar sauce and ketchup packets were provided in my Togo bag. The French fries were not hot or cut in house. All in all, we were dissatisfied with our dining experience. I encourage you to look at my photos."
"We ended up here because of this spot's proximity to our hostel - and it was the only open restaurant at 1 am when we landed. We came back a couple of days later just because the food was so good. It was a bit of a wait (understandably, it's a very popular spot). The grilled fish po'boy was to die for, and all sides we tried were delicious. They also have all sorts of daiquiris in all imaginable sizes, in case you're thirsty."
