"The food was good. I had the shrimp, fish, fries, and salad platter along with the oysters. As mentioned, it is not the friendliest and most welcoming as far as the cashier. Seems to be a local catered restaurant. It was not the best neighborhood, but it was safe inside, and the food was good. I wanted to experience a local spot. I liked it.... @brodyand.i"

"This was my second time at Smily’s. Both were for breakfast. The food was great, with great customer service as well. Items I got were: An egg and cheese sandwich and I added hot sausage. Pancake platter with bacon and an omelette. The omelette was by far the best."

"I'm never coming back to this place again. The girl who answered the phone was ignorant and non professional to begin with. I ordered a seafood gumbo for $13 and received about a half of cup of gumbo. I asked why is the portion so small for $13 and the cashier said because it's pre portioned! Who pre portions gumbo in New Orleans? The gumbo isn't even very good, it's not nasty but definitely taste watered down."

"This place was delicious. We had a bit of a wait but the food was well worth it. The fry on the chicken and the fish was perfect. The inside was juicy and delicious and our food was packed with flavor. My boyfriend got the fish fry po-boy and I got the lemon pepper tender basket. The fries were even season well and came with a good aioli."
