About the Dogtopia of Harbor Steps
Welcome to Dogtopia of Harbor Steps located at 1300 Post Alley in Seattle, Washington, United States. We are thrilled to meet you and your furry friend for a Meet & Greet! Our focus at Dogtopia is on health, safety, and ensuring that all dogs are comfortable in our open-play environment.
For daycare and boarding, dogs are separated into playrooms based on size and temperament, allowing them to socialize, exercise, learn, and have fun in a safe and supervised setting. Our highly trained Canine Coaches are always there to oversee the play and you can even check in on your pup via our live webcams throughout the day.
We understand that not every dog is suited for an off-leash, open-play environment, which is why we take the safety of our furry guests very seriously. Our Meet & Greet process includes a 20-30 minute evaluation with our trained evaluator to ensure that your pup is a good fit for daycare. This evaluation includes a health history overview, a nose-to-tail assessment, and an evaluation of their comfort level with other dogs in a controlled mini-play area.
All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old and current on required vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP/DHPP, and Bordetella). Dogs older than 7 months must also be spayed or neutered. Newly adopted adult dogs and dogs that have recently relocated to the Seattle area should be in their new home for at least 30 days before joining us.
New overnight boarding pups must complete 3 days of daycare prior to their first overnight stay to ensure their comfort and familiarize them with their new environment and friends.
Once your Meet & Greet appointment is confirmed, you will receive an email to begin the registration process online. On the day of the Meet & Greet, please bring your dog on a leash or slip lead with a collar/harness. The evaluation process will take place with our trained evaluator while you can explore the facility and watch the playroom cameras from our lobby.
At Dogtopia, we want the Meet & Greet day to be a fun experience for the whole family as it introduces your pup to our open-play environment, perfect for their fitness and social life. Your furry friend may even find their BFFF (best furry friend forever) during their time here!

Reviews of Dogtopia of Harbor Steps
"We've looked for years for a good doggie daycare in the Seattle Metro area and could not find one that met our expectations (e.g., qualified and friendly staff, clean, attentive dog supervision, a reasonable ratio of staff to dogs, and an acceptable ratio of dogs to space). We have been delighted with Dogtopia of Harbor Steps. Thanks for giving us a safe and fun place for our fur baby when needed!"
"I came here for a nail trim for my elderly dog. She has toe treads glued on her nails to prevent her slipping on hard wood floors and they are a pain in the butt to get off. The staff was super patient, kind, and went the extra mile to get them off her nails to give her a proper trim with zero complaints. Friendly, easygoing, and a joy to work with. I will definitely be returning. Big props to the woman who discussed KPop with me while she was working on getting the toe treads off!"
"I've been using Dogtopia of Harbor Steps for a couple months as a casual boarding facility. They're close to work, easy to drop off and head to the airport. Lately I have had a leg injury and have been needing to drop off Ernie more often. Haven't had any issues, Jeff has helped me with stairs as needed and Ernie's always very excited to go see his friends."
"I really didn’t want to write a negative review and bring down their score so I have been emailing with them for some time now, but issues keep arising. We have had SO many issues with care at this facility. The first red flag was he had to have two meet-and-greets because they didn’t have a record of his first one or his first full visit. We only visit on the weekends because we use a local daycare that we absolutely love during the week but they are closed on the weekend and our dog is working through separation anxiety with a behaviorist and can’t currently be left alone for extended periods. They have a weekend rate but every single time they charge us the full weekday rate and I have to email them to have them fix it with my bank. Every single time. They have also given me the wrong dog at check out before, cameras are often not working, and don’t interact with my dog the way the other daycare does. When they brought me the wrong dog they told me all of these positive things about him and showed he photos they took and as I said “that’s not my dog in the photo” they bought out the wrong one but had nothing to say about my dog when they actually brought out the right one. My dog has also come home with poop smeared in his fur and they didn’t know what happened. Overall, the care is not worth the price here and I really wish our other daycare was open on the weekend. We will be looking around to find another facility that’s open on the weekends because after having to write emails every time we visit to address issues or fix payment errors we can’t continue care here."
"Our dog gets so excited when we drive into Seattle and has taken to knocking on the door to let Dogtopia know we're ready for them to open! He has been to both daycare and boarding here and has had an awesome experience with the stellar training and care team. Plus, they are remarkably military-friendly and adaptable to our challenging work schedules, which makes a huge difference not only for me but for several of my coworkers. Highly recommend; Bandit can't wait to go back soon!"
