"15 mins from Seattle downtown will take you to serene, scenic and nature filled trails. Complete transformation of scene in 15 mins From traffic noice to birds chirping. Fresh air on trails bursting with wild thick vegetation growth. You do have lot of options to choose from for trails but avoid trails closer to water treatment plant. Although map suggest flat trails but do expect some stairs as well as up and down narrow paths."
"Not a fan of this "beach". Full of logs and other things in the sand, muddy in certain areas even though it hasn't rained. Overall didn't like it. Beautiful views to Rainier though!"
"Fort Lawton Beachbor the north beach in Discovery park is a nice hike through trails. It is a beautiful jaunt on a nice sunny day. The. Beach has a historical light house and plenty of driftwood all over. Great views of the sound."
"Discovery Park beach facing the Puget Sound with beautiful views and wide beach front of sand and rocks. Not so crowded on weekdays, fall and winter seasons. This is a popular beach and park feature with very limited parking (just 8 permitted spots). Because parking space is limited and the beach is a long way downhill from the parking lots, it is recommended to plan ahead if you intend to picnic at the beach. Secure a permit at the Visitor Center but note that it doesn't guarantee a spot because some do park illegally. Easy access to the lighthouse, and another stretch of beach on the other side (of the lighthouse fence). Great place to boat watch. Spend time here to witness the sun setting."
"Such a beautiful place to visit, and walk around. So glad we came to visit, but yes it was cold but worth it."
