"After going here for 4 or so years, I decided to find another Vet. Overall this place does the bare minimum of what is expected. These are my complaints: 1) They rarely explain things in full detail. Such as all the side effects of medication they are prescribing and all pros/cons of things they are going to do and why. Also when they hand you the bill they just want you to sign instead of clearly explaining what each charge is in full detail and give other options. 2) They don't communicate preemptive care, but instead wait until things get so bad that a surgery is needed. Instead of saying "hey you should look into A,B, and C to keep your dogs teeth clean", they wait until it gets so bad so they can recommend major dental work that will costs thousands. 3) The little things, like when you board your pets (Renton location), they expect an extra payment for an update + photo. Umm I am paying you thousands of dollars you cannot send me a pic so that I can see how they are living/doing? Other places do this for free. I can't help the feeling that they care more about money than taking care of my pet and building a relationship. Maybe I'm naive to expect anything different."
"My experiences on 12/1 (meet/greet) and 12/8 (annual): 1) Parking - Plenty of on-site and street (Free and legal - BONUS!) 2) Reception - Very clean with lots of natural light. The In-floor scale is a really nice touch. 3) Exam Room - The bench seat for human companions was comfortable and convenient....so nice to not feel like too much of an afterthought. :) 4) Front Desk Staff - Kyle and Audrey are patient, thorough, and thoughtful. They always double-checked the bill, were ready with lab/medication pickups, and scheduled our follow-up right away. 5) Veterinary Assistants - Jessie made my dog feel welcome with smiles and snacks, as soon as we walked in the door. Gabriella opened the doors for me, because my dog was passed out snoring on the floor after a sedated exam, and gave me no choice but to carry her to the car. 6) Exam Room Team: - Ava always treats my dog with kindness and warmth. She was a big help to Dr. Beckham in the exam room, and graciously addressed all of my questions and concerns after the visit. - Dr. Beckham was up-to-date on the literature about sedation, and provided reasonable suggestions for how I could support my dog's exam day experience. He went the extra mile to make sure all preventive services were completed same day, so that I wouldn't have to subject my dog to additional sedations. 7) Leadership: - Sarah is a great mentor to her staff and genuinely advocates for all of the pets and people that enter the hospital. - Dr. Hung was overheard accurately recalling the name of a family's pet that she provided end-of-life care for in 2007. She has probably seen tens of thousands of pets, since then. Listening to, and remembering, important details like these starts at the very top, and is exactly why EVA is such a great practice. Pet ownership is not always easy; often because it is time-consuming and expensive. Peace of mind is also a tremendous privilege, which is why EVA is worth the price. Thanks to everyone at EVA for treating my dog like she was a member of their own family!"
"Top notch care. They are Very thorough when they share their findings which I've always appreciated, even if I don't totally understand all the medical knowledge behind it. They've shown me how to give my cats IV fluids and pills unlike other places that simply told me I needed to do that without ever showing me, which caused so much unnecessary pain. They are also very transparent with prices so you're not hit with surprises. The receptionists are always nice, which I also appreciate. It can be very emotional when it comes to dealing with the well-being of our pets (babies), so having staff that are sensitive and kind helps a lot. There's no doubt my cats have lived longer than they otherwise would thanks to the doctors expertise here. I miss Dr. Chartrand, but wish her all the best."
"I recently took my two cats to Eastside Veterinary Associates -Kirkland for their annual checkup and vaccinations. However, my experience with this clinic was far from satisfactory. After the vaccine, one of my cats stopped eating wet food, and drinking water and even lost interest in playing. I contacted the clinic's doctor, who advised me to bring my cat in for an examination. The doctor charged me $150 for testing and injecting fluids into my cat's body but did not provide any clear diagnosis. My cat's condition did not improve and continued to refuse food or water. On the third day, I noticed that the smell of my cat's urine was stronger than usual, and he had soiled himself to the point where I had to clean him. When I was drying him, my hand accidentally hit his urinary tract, and my cat screamed, which was the first time I noticed such a reaction from him. I immediately contacted the doctor, who advised me to bring my cat in for another examination. The doctor charged me another $300, but he could not provide a clear diagnosis or solution to my cat's problem. As my cat's condition continued to worsen, I took him to Animal Hospital, where the doctor identified that he had a urinary tract issue. The doctor administered immediate treatment, which helped my cat's condition improve significantly. Although the clinic eventually identified the problem, I was disappointed with the lack of care and attention my cat received initially. The total cost of my cat's treatment from this clinic was $450, but the care was subpar, and my cat's condition continued to worsen under their watch. I would not recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone, and I suggest that pet owners consider other options before choosing this clinic."
"The receptionist was really attentive, helpful, thorough and kind. Doctor and technician were just as excellent. They looked at my elderly baby's extensive medical record, which was in another language, and listened to me explain her conditions. They kindly explained to me each item requested to be examined and I was allowed to purchase the medicine prescribed at another place, which was more affordable to me. My baby was feeling better immediately after treatment. Overall really pleased with the care at the Veterinary Association! "
