"Rivermark is a joke these days. If you want your mortgage to be serviced by a call center in the midwest, go with them, like any other corporate bank. Otherwise, find a local credit union run by local people."
"I have been banking here for almost 10 years. The service has declined greatly. I feel that the bank now focuses on fees, and Not their members. I feel that things are designed to be intentionally confusing in order to collect more fees."
"After reading the reviews on customer service, I'm glad I made the decision to close my account. I used Rivermark solely as an account to keep money set aside for emergency or if I'm planning on a purchase. I needed to withdraw over the weekend MY money, but their daily limit is 500. I didn't know this, and I guess I could have looked it up on their app. I went in to get the money I needed this morning. First time ever stepping foot in their branch. I asked to withdraw the amount I needed. I figured since I was there, I would ask about the withdrawal limit. The teller I was talking to wasn't sure and barely got two words out when the guy up on an elevated platform behind her said it was standard for all banks and he knew for a fact US Banks limit is 500 and went to babble on about safety and other stuff. He never actually answered the question, that it was your policy or that he would look it up. The teller in front of me just looked confused and like she's used to being talked over. I asked him to please stop talking because the distance he was from me and the teller, he was almost yelling where everyone could hear our conversation. He didn't apologize and just kept talking. Again, he never came down from his perch and said, "Let's look it up," or show the teller or even let me know with any actual knowledge about the withdrawal limit policy of Rivermark itself. I don't need to know about US Banks policy or what he believes is standard across the board. I do my actual banking with another institution, and I can unequivocally say the limit is 1000. I want access to my money when I need it. I did decide to close my accounts with your institution right then and there. When the teller asked why I closed my account, I told her. I don't want to be yelled at where everyone can hear, I asked a question that was never actually answered. Instead of her speaking up or taking any initiative to actually look anything up, she just sat there and let her manager? Mansplain. The situation really only needed a simple answer of oh that's our policy as in you guys know it for a fact or I'm not sure let me look that up. I was shown no courtesy or respect. When I told her my reason, the guy behind her again started in and would not stop talking. That's not customer service that's just another white male who is used to people having to listen to him and being able to behave anyway he wants. He was argumentative and was insisting I had to let him speak. No I didn't. He literally did not care why the situation was upsetting to me. He probably has no clue how misogynistic he behaved. He was entitled and had he any actual respect for his colleague he would've got up from his perch, and actually showed his coworker where to find the information on your withdrawal policy not US Banks or his opinion about it being across the board. Unfortunately, as a poc and especially one with tattoos, I'm sure I'll be the one labeled the aggressor. I'll just keep banking with my bank. If I need another for the same purposes I used Rivermark for, I'll find another one that hopefully has better customer service skills."
"I recently became a member and had great experience setting up my accounts. The account manager helping me was efficient, a good listener and asked important questions that would help determine what was right for me. Other people I engaged at this location were very friendly and welcoming. I'm looking forward to doing business here."
"I have always been a very big fan of Rivermark Credit Union! Customer service is always outstanding! I had to work on unauthorized charges to my business account today with Cassandra. It took several phone contacts to sort it all out but she stuck with it and was unbelievably patient, kind, compassionate, and professional. I've worked with her before and several others, and she is always so amazing to deal with!! Even though we've relocated to another state, thanks to mobile and online banking options, we've been able to continue to enjoy the wonderful services and people who represent Rivermark! Always a wonderful experience. Wouldn't bank anywhere else."
