Council of Presidents

The Council of Presidents is an association of Washington state's six public four-year colleges and universities, located at 410 11th Avenue Southeast in Olympia, Washington. For over 50 years, the Council has focused on advancing collaboration, cooperation, innovation, and efficiency within the higher education sector to drive economic prosperity, fiscal responsibility, and sound public policy.

Central Washington University, founded in 1891, is a comprehensive public university located in Ellensburg, with programs offered in various community colleges across the state. Eastern Washington University, founded in 1882, is located in Cheney with programs in Spokane and other locations. The Evergreen State College, founded in 1967, is an innovative liberal arts college in Olympia with programs in Tacoma and other locations. The University of Washington, founded in 1861, is a multi-campus research university in Seattle, Tacoma, and Bothell. Washington State University, founded in 1890, is a land-grant research university in Pullman with additional campuses in Everett, Tri-Cities, Spokane, and Vancouver. Western Washington University, founded in 1893, is located in Bellingham with programs in various locations including the Shannon Point Marine Center in Anacortes.
