Mary Lyon Elementary School

"The only reason why I'm rating it one star is because that's the lowest it will go. On the first day, my son's teacher told him he had to wait to go to the bathroom after asking twice, he peed his pants and was left in peed clothing for the rest of the day. I wasn't called and I wasn't told and the next day I confronted the teacher, she played dumb. The next day, I noticed all of his personal belongings were tookin out of his back pack, these were separate from the two big bags of community supplies I had bought for the class. When I asked the teacher, she said they were for the community and that she would send home h8s binder and pencil box which I still have not received. The teacher was also very rude to my son the last morning he went, she asked him more than once if he needed to use the restroom and he told her no, he went already and instead of letting him in class, she turned him around and pushed him away telling him to go to the bathroom... I confronted her and she gave me a sarcastic OK and turned around. I'm not one to complain, but this school is rated one of the worst in tacoma and they proved it in the first week! My son is now going to Puyallup and these schools up here are awesome! Please, don't take your child to this school, who thinks getting a remodel is going to make it better, it starts with your staff who also told me they were going to kick my son out if I didn't get his transcripts, which is their job because both schools told me I can't get them and that they have to call for them, which mary lyon refused to do.... terrible school!"

"They need to tell there cooks that there yogurt is expired and there sandwiches sometimes have mold and my thing is they still serve it to the kids but luckily my kid checks"

"Children are rushed out of cafeteria. Many times they are forced to go without or with little food as staff tell them to go out to play. Also when Nurse is on lunch children should not be denied services, they should be sent to the office where they can await her return. This needs to Stop!"
