"Horrible experience...teachers are extremely unhelpful with struggling students. If you want your child to be passed along, send them here."
"Read The Mikis' review for this school. As being a student of this school during Dirk's time as principal, I can confirm every thing they said with first hand experience. Firstly I would like to clarify that I have high-functioning autism, so he should have been giving me a break! Instead, he suspended me in KINDERGARTEN! And I, no joke, yelled at someone for breaking my pencil, and was suspended. He took every chance he could to suspend me, and I mean EVERY. My 'folder' is a few inches high! It looks like Calven's folder from Calven and Hobbes! Almost all of them are from the TWO AND A HALF YEARS, yes not even a full 5 years, that I was at that school! Now my mom worked in the PTA at that school and they got almost no funding. So nothing interesting even happend! And lastly, he fired the best teacher because he didn't like her. All in all, don't let your kids go to this school, it wont end well."
"I like the school all the teachers are really nice and so is the principal nice job challenger elementary."
"I went to this school a few years ago. It's a clean campus with a nice courtyard and playground. The Phys ED class challenged me to be the best I could be, and it was a good time. Not to name any names, a few teachers were a little lazy with the attitudes of the students, although it was overall great."
"Worst school I have ever dealt with. Dirk Adkison, the school principal, is the most inadequate, self absorbed individual I have ever come in contact with. Dirk is incapable of sincerely making decisions in which directly effect childrens' education and he has proven that year after year. If challenger had more sufficient leadership and organization there would not be illiterate third grade students and the cafeteria would not run out of food for the students everyday either. My son attended challenger for almost 3 years. During this time we ran across an issue regarding bullying, which needed an in-office resolution. The outcome and decisions made by Dirk and his staff on this issue were outrageous! My son, who was being bullied, came home and told me he was told it was all his fault. I went into the school the next morning. I was not allowed to speak with Dirk. Although I could see him sitting in his office doing nothing, I was told I had to make an appointment to speak with him. What a coward. I decided to file a complaint. I feel Dirk Adkinson took this incident as a direct challenge to the undeserved authority he somehow still has. He has tried for the past 2 years to show his fury by singling out and bullying my son as well as my family. Little does he know, my family looks down on him for his actions and have absolutely no respect for him as a human being. I have also filed a formal complaint against Dirk with the school district. I have had countless incidents with Dirk, far too many to list. Do what's best for your child and stay away from Challenger Elementary."
