"Blennerhassett Island & Mansion is a Wonderful place to visit ! Beautiful Place ! Our Mansion Tour was cut short due to some people talking and the Tour Guide Reprimanding them a little inappropriately. TheTour just fell apart and people just started leaving. Hopefully this was a rare incident. I would still highly recommend this place !"
"An enjoyable 20 minute sternwheeler boat ride from Parkersburg, WV takes you to Blennerhasset Island, in the middle of the Ohio River. After a short walk up the hill from the boat, you'll see the Blennerhasset Mansion on your right. At $5 for a 30 minute guided tour, this is a real bargain. The costumed guide told the history of the Blennerhasset family and of the mansion that they lived in for just a few years in the early 1800s. The mansion itself is beautiful both inside and out, suiting the lifestyle of wealthy landowners of that time period. If you go to Blennerhasset Island, don't miss the mansion tour!"
"Beautiful mansion rebuilt by West Virginia in State Park on island named after the Blennerhassett family protecting it from Ohio River floods. It's definitely worth a visit. Ferry is the only way to reach the island; check schedules. Take the horse pulled wagon ride! And one can rent bicycles to ride around the island."
"I was so impressed at the knowledge and story-telling ability of our tour guide. He was able to answer all questions. He neither sounded like a recorded message nor like he was trying to think up what to say. After reading about Blennerhassett, I was not disappointed with seeing the island or the presentation. Everyone was friendly and competent."
"House is completely finished as of 1992 and open 6 months of the year for tours. Get the museum, guided house tour, and guided wagon tour package but be prepared to spend a couple hrs at museum as well as a couple hrs at island."
