"My husband and I booked the waterfall hiking tour, and we had the absolute best time! Each waterfall was stunning, the hikes were very beginner friendly, and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Every member of staff we interacted with was so kind and overflowing with knowledge about the area and passion for their community. We loved the pizza we had in Pleasant Harbor and exploring Brinnon after the tour. Can't wait to book our next adventure!"
"We rented a kayak for a quick last minute paddle to get out on the water for an hour and a half. The price was totally reasonable at $35 plus the launch area fee. We went in the off-season and met at the office to quickly sign the waiver and pay and then went a short ways down the road to where the boats and launch point are. The plastic kayaks were in good condition and we were supplied with lifejackets, map, and bilge pump. You can also rent crab pots and a cooker!! We saw a seal and had a pleasant time on the water. Christina was super accommodating!"
"My husband and I and two friends took a Saturday afternoon class at Hood Canal Adventures called "Foraged Food Cooking Class - Stinging Nettle Pesto." It was taught by their foraged food chef, Nancy Smith, with Andrea as an assistant and we all loved it. You meet at their storefront, check in, make introductions, and drive a short distance to a place where they show you how to safely harvest stinging nettle in the wild. (If you don't bring sturdy enough gloves, they provide some.) After that you return to the kitchen next to the storefront and they demonstrate how to make a pesto with the stinging nettle leaves. At the end you get to take home a small jar or two. I loved Nancy's teaching style and everyone's sense of humor. I plan on signing up for more of these classes in the future. I would say that the class is probably less targeted to kids, since there is a fair amount of observing instead of hands-on participation -- which absolutely was NOT a problem for me. Christina, the owner of Hood Canal Adventures, also joined the class and she had a really great suggestion to visit a waterfall up the road. Visiting the waterfall on the way out was the perfect end to the day and I'm so glad she shared that info with us."
"Great place for kayaking, took my kids for their first time. Calm waters, great views. Highly recommend."
"We did the Dosewallips tour during our camping trip over Labor Day weekend and had a fantastic experience. Our kayaks were top notch and fairly easy to get the hang of, as first-time kayakers. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and despite the waterways being busy with activity and boaters, we still saw a ton of seals. We were also incredibly fortunate to encounter a herd of elk --- an unforgettable sight. Awesome experience! Highly recommend."
