Bleu Door Bakery

"A lot of hype for bland food and staff seems uninteresting/slightly rude. I wouldn't come for the dine in experience, not counting the 25 min wait. The food and pateries look picturesque but bland."

"This is our second time visiting Bleu Door Bakery. The restaurant is Paris and blue themed, with a lot of cute sayings and quotes around. You will walk in and be greeted with a wonderful display of pastries and cakes. We were a big party of 8 and went for brunch. I would definitely recommend using their online waitlist as they can get pretty busy. Staff did let us sit down before our whole party showed, so that was very nice! I believe we only waited for about 20 minutes. One thing I love about this place is they will do specials each month. We went in February, so the specials were red/love themed. I had the beetroot latte, which was a little gritty but still tasted good. Kind of like a chai. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which came with 2 eggs cooked however I wanted. It has a wonderful tomato and leek sauce that is so good! My partner got the Biscuits and Gravy that also comes with 2 eggs cooked however they wanted. The biscuits were bacon and cheese biscuits and were very flakey! We will definitely be returning!"

"In general I do love Bleu Door’s pastries, but for seated service it leaves something to be desired. I tried the sourdough pancake and it came out raw. (We also ordered quiche and breakfast sandwich with house coffee and an americano. Coffee is great!) When I notified a waitress (not *our* waitress), they remade the pancake which was then very overcooked, and took another 15 minutes to come out. They spill coffee on your phone when giving a refill. Our waitress disappeared halfway through our meal without notice. My salad was supposed to (according to the menu) have cranberries but didn’t. It seems like the kitchen is struggling both in fulfilling orders and in timing. Again buying their pastries for takeout is great but seated breakfast service could definitely be improved. Our breakfast took 2 hours. The small croissant that came with my breakfast was tough and felt day-old. (I’ve had others previously here that were very soft). Overall 3/5."

"We come here every time we're in town. I love the service, food, and atmosphere. I'm happy to see they have expanded their menu and have a new dining area. We ate chicken with biscuits and gravy, a roast beef and cheddar sandwich with salad (half and half), and a chicken panini sandwich."

"The most amazing bakery ever! We had breakfast there and everything was incredible. The staff is super friendly, the bakery selection is out of this world and the breakfast was amazing. We had bloody Mary’s and lavender mimosas which were both to die for. Don’t drive by Vancouver without stopping here."
