"Really cool jail to see and I like they give you time after the tour to explore sections on your own. I felt the tour could have had a little more explanation as they had other interesting facts after asking them more questions. I know it's been challenging to have enough guides though. If you're already in Jim Thorpe I would give it a visit."
"You get a guided tour of the jail after watching a rather poor quality video. Our tour guide was not very personable, very rehearsed speech. We did find the history of the place very interesting though."
"Take a stroll through history preserved. You'll be able to get a small glimpse into prison life. Take a step inside a real prison cell. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we had. There's also a small gift shop inside tge prison."
"This was fun and definitely a recommendation if youre in Jim Thorpe! You learn about the past in a video, go down to the dungeon and back to the jail cells. There were crazy crickets on the ceiling in the dungeon. Its really neat to see the cells. You can visit upstairs and other rooms throughout. I would return."
"An informative and slightly creepy place to learn about a sad history of the falsely accused. Our tour guide was very peppy, easy to understand, and friendly as she lead us around the old jail. Being able to walk into cells and see the gallows (recreation), put into perspective some of the plights of our ancestors. It was also intriguing to hear about the infamous "handprint" and see it in person. Overall I enjoyed visiting. My only suggestion is that perhaps it's time to update the pre-tour video."
