"This review is about particular staff members at the Alcoa: Ms. Kim, Mr. Kenny, and Hook. As a new resident not only to the building, but to Pittsburgh as well, these three members of staff helped me feel welcome and grounded at the Residences at the Alcoa. Honestly, they deserve a raise for all the hard work they do and support they give residents. Ms. Kim and Mr. Kenny (front desk staff) really made sure the building ran smoothly when they were on duty, and always had comprehensive answers to any of my questions. I really felt like I could count on them when it came to concerns about the building or community. Hook (maintenance personnel) was so knowledgeable about the building and the community, and really helped me feel settled in my apartment by letting me know if there were donated items I might need and introducing me to other people in the building (I even got a cat-sitting job through one of these connections). He really looked out for me and helped me feel seen and safe. My time at the Alcoa would not have been as good without his help!"

"My son moved in his first apartment here this week and I was so impressed with the hospitality and warmth of Angie, who made the application process seamless, the concierges Ariel and Mr. Kenny and the veteran maintenance manager Hook. Hook in particular was especially instrumental in helping to get my son situated in his apartment. His willingness to share information and resources with my son makes me feel at ease knowing that he’s being looked out for by someone who genuinely cares about the well being of the residents. It was humbling witnessing someone who has worked in the building for over 4 decades share how his love of the building and interaction with the residents makes him look forward to showing up everyday. The apartment is spacious, clean and the amenities are A+."

"This is a very nice building in downtown Pittsburgh. Their management staffs are very friendly and helpful. When we move out, they refunded all of our deposit.
