"I recently went to see a show here and was super impressed with this local gem! I appreciated the selection of films for a small venue, and the concessions were a great variety - appreciated the kids and adult options as well as highlighting local options. Seats were comfy and sound was great - also with the small theater, great view! The murals and architecture made it feel like a fun experience offering something special compared to sterile big box theaters. We then had a private viewing here and everyone who came had such a great time - I wish I would have thought of this earlier! I really appreciated the accommodations to make it a special event and would highly recommend as a great option for a private viewing as well. Great celebration of a small local business!"
"Ark Lodge is my new favorite place to see films in the neighborhood. I love not having to drive to South Center. I wish I would have discovered it sooner. I saw Godzilla minus one and Poor things here. I'm not sure if the popcorn has real butter which would make it amazing like Landmark Theaters used to have in like central cinema has. But they do have a lot of awesome drink choices like Jones Soda and hard cider. The Prestige theater is so comfy and the house theater is just as big as any mall theater which surprised me that it was hidden away in this historic building."
"Great local theater we should all be a part of to show our community love! They put shows together that you can’t find at the corporate joints, thanks Ark Lodge!"
"Rough start to what should have been a relaxed, welcoming evening with sorority sisters and a few film grant students to watch The Color Purple. The manager was abrasive with several elderly customers and tense with me over information we had no way of knowing. It dimmed the light on forging a relationship for other potential community outings with more than 25 other organizations we are affiliated with. It would seem building a positive relationship with community leaders would be high on the agenda. However, he had zero empathy for the elderly waiting in the light rain, not even offering the empty sofa for a seat in the small foyer. After a tense conversation with the manager about the makings of good empathetic customer service, he didn't seem to receive the exchange well--arguing he's been a manager for 20 years. Leadership is influence, however, bad managers tend to think leadership is being aggressive, abrasive, and short. Nevertheless, the usher was professional and courteous, and when it was time for the event the manager was far more cordial to our party. It's a nice, quaint venue and a shame the experience made us hesitant about ever returning, especially when the business is struggling. Apparently he doesn't understand how positive-word-of-mouth can lift a business to success and bad word-of-mouth can sink the the ship. Maybe by some miracle he'll gain a growth mindset and evolve. Until then, I'll never go back to this venue."
"Ark Lodge is a great local theater! I saw the Barbie movie here a few weeks ago with my partner. He and I both had a great experience! The man working the snacks counter was very friendly and kind, and the man working the front door for tickets and directions was very knowledgeable and organized. The theater itself was very comfortable and had great video and audio quality. High rec for anyone in the area to enjoy a night out!"
