Reviews of SIFF Cinema Egyptian
"This was my first time at the SIFF Egyptian theater and it was great! We went to see Aubrey Gordon’s film, “your fat friend” and she and the director were there for a Q&A. I greatly enjoyed the director of education- she has a very playful and fun presence (and an awesome sense of style!!). Seats were comfortable for me as a small fat (approx size 18) but would have been quickly uncomfortable for any larger."
"Great classic themed movie house. Good selection of beer and popcorn was good."
"Went here to see a film during the Noir Film Festival. The outside does not really advertise it is a theatre as a consequence of it being a repurposed Masonic temple. The building was built in 1915 as a Masonic temple and converted to a theater in 1980. The theater suffers somewhat from this project as the doors are few and small and this does not read as a theater from the outside. Inside the lobby is small and the restrooms are very small considering the size of the theater. Further, the halls are narrow and thus lines forming for the restrooms fill the hallways and make entry or exit from the theater itself difficult. The theater seating is good with comfortable seats with a lot of legroom. The projection and sound quality is good and the film we saw was a pleasure to watch. As this is a theater that presents art films the negatives I cited about the lobby and restrooms will not bother most patrons. The viewing experience is very good and thus is fair value for art film aficionados."
"Amazing! I've lived down the street for 5 years and had no idea this existed. I went to see Dune here with a friend who's a regular, the theater did not disappoint. High quality screen and excellent sound system. Better than most corporate theaters. Highly recommend. I will be going back again."
"Went to the Kishi Bashi song film here. Such a great venue and experience."
