"Units are all beautiful and spacious. Maintenance guy is amazing. But the units are very HOT in summer and very chilly in winter. Old building, so not much they can do about it because of historical preservation rules. Parking is a nightmare most days. Windows are in SERIOUS need of repair. Neighbors are cool, good mix of ppl, lots of dogs, a few young families, a few young bro squads rooming together, and lots of older couples. They have kept a bunch of awesome stuff from when it used to be a factory. 2 restaurants and a hair salon share the building. We love living here most days - except for the hottest parts of summer - apts turn into literal infernos and everyone seems miserable."
"I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent experience my daughter and I had at Harmon Lofts in August 2023. My daughter had been interested in leasing an apartment at Harmon Lofts due to its convenient location near UWT and its charming historical building. However, our encounter with the property manager, Suzanne, left us with a negative impression. Before our visit, I had previously spoken with Suzanne over the phone, during which I had conveyed our preferences regarding the number of bedrooms we were looking for. Unfortunately, my attempts to reach out via email had gone unanswered, which prompted us to visit the office in person. It was evident that the units at Harmon Lofts were in high demand, and we wanted to ensure we didn’t miss an opportunity. Upon arriving at the Harmon Lofts office during their posted hours, we were surprised to find the door locked. Fortunately, a passerby informed us that the office staff were rarely present and suggested ringing the doorbell, which we did. When Suzanne finally came to the door, her demeanor was less than welcoming. She appeared visibly irritated and did not greet us or inquire how she could assist us. Instead, once I informed her our reason for being there she immediately mentioned the need for a credit check, which was unexpected and raised concerns about her professionalism. What troubled us even more was the subtle indication of bias. Suzanne’s tone and attitude were noticeably different from our previous phone conversation with her. It seemed evident that she had an issue with us based on our ethnicity, which was both disappointing and inappropriate. In light of our experience, I would like to suggest that Roberson Building Company consider providing training to Suzanne to enhance her professionalism, communication skills, and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all potential tenants is essential. Ultimately, my daughter found a suitable apartment nearby, where the property staff demonstrated professionalism and courtesy throughout the leasing process. We hope that this feedback will be taken constructively and contribute to improving the experience for future prospective tenants at Harmon Lofts."
"Nice view"
"Lived here in a loft facing the back. Super quiet, great management, awesome building superintendent and parking in the building. All this and a one minute walk to El Gaucho....what's to think about? I would live here again in a heartbeat, if I am ever back in Tacoma."
"I love the Harmon, the building was built in 1909 and it has the feel of Tacoma history inside. I live in a harbor side loft and love the view. Each loft has huge windows and one swings wide open. Suzanne is the property manager and from the the first day I met her she has been fantastic. All around it is a great place to call home."
