Mc Kinley Terrace

"I went to McKinley Terrace, not knowing it was closed to access by non-residents. So, I called and told the lady who answered that I wanted to talk to someone about an apartment. She didn't seem too interested in talking to anyone, and told me that I needed to be over 62, and they didn't do "walk-ins". She wanted my address, so she could mail me an application. A week later, I got an 18-page(!) application that wanted to know more about me than I know about me! There was a note in red that there was a two-year waiting period, after which I would be "screened". All of this for an apartment that I wouldn't see until I was approved and we did a walk-through! With all of that, I don't approve of McKinley Terrace. So thank you, but NO."

"The management is using government grants to upgrade the tenants apartments, but the improvements have taken much longer than expected. Tenants were told that they would be moved out of their apartment for 1 week, and then for 1 week after that they would need to be out of their apartment during the day for 1 additional week. Some tenants have had to stay out of their apartment for 4 or 5 weeks while sleeping in dusty apartments at night."
