"Horrible response to addressing the trash left at the end of their driveway on Marvin Street. This is a BUS STOP for CHILDREN to get to SCHOOL everyday, I attempted to report by calling the office and they ANSWERED the phone and proceeded to have a conversation with their coworkers, IGNORING the information given to them and IGNORING acknowledging my very presence. I can't believe they have people "working" there that while on the clock are actively dismissive of their responsibility to their apartment, residents, and children. EDIT: AS OF 04/19/23 ALL THE APARTMENT HAS DONE IS PUSH ALL THE TRASH INTO A PILE AND LEFT IT THERE AT THE END OF THEIR DRIVEWAY. ITS STILL RIGHT WHERE CHILDREN GET ON AND OFF THE BUS FROM SCHOOL!!!! I UNBELIEVABLE."
"Lived here for about 2 1/2 years and it was great. First the location is very convenient. Less than 5 minutes away from the highway northbound or southbound. 15 minutes away from JBLM with moderate traffic. Lacey also offer all your needs (Walmart & Costco, Popular fast food joints and chains, Medical offices, Salons, shopping, Movie theaters and Entertainment, Bars etc etc). The community is also a safe area compared to others, and you can often find regular police patrols which offer great peace of mind. There's a convenient non contact & self serve car wash right outside the gate; this is a gated complex. The compound is kept clean and well groomed. The units are great especially for the price. Compared to other apartment complexes, they offer great pricing considering how expensive Washington is. Each unit comes with an assigned covered parking spot which is great for when it snows. There is also unassigned parking spots as well if you have guests. They were apart of the RPP program when I first moved in but aren't anymore. That being said, they are very military friendly. Maintenance does a good job with keeping up with request (I only ever had 2). Cons? Well the unit I was in was on building A which is located close to the gate, at the front. The car wash outside can get fairly noisy IF you have your windows or Balcony Door open. Closing it blocks out 90% of the sound. Overall, a great place to live and I would definitely move back here if I ever come back."
"It’s alright. If you have a pet it’s like $500 per pet for the pet deposit. They need more maintenance men, they only have two and it takes a very long time before they are able to come to your apartment. I have water damage to my baseboards and under my sink, which my sink is still leaking and there’s black mold in there. It’s been months and I’m still waiting. I just wish they’d hire more maintenance people to meet the demand for the complex."
"Just moved out of the Madison Apartments after living there 18 months. The staff is very kind and quick with responses and getting issues resolved (during office hours). The amenities are nice and include being in a gated community, one covered parking space (I was in a 1 bedroom, could be more for more rooms but I'm not certain), a pool, and a small gym. I moved in during COVID so I didn't get to use the latter two and didn't desire to when they reopened. The security deposit is roughly $300 but since I'd had no rental history prior I had to pay 2 security deposits. When moving out however, you may not see all that returned to you because all of the cleaning fees are deducted from the deposit after moving out and these costs total $270. The only other thing financial that I'll add to my review is that the rent for my 1 bedroom was a little shy of $1600 and the Madison does require that you make 3x your rent. You have a designated parking spot per your lease and there is some good and some bad to that. Within my time there, there was a party being held by another resident and someone had parked in my spot and there aren't many additional parking spots. People often park by the curb in the little road way when the 10 parking spots by the main office are taken and that night I had to park at a business down the street and walk back to my apartment. The lighting in the apartment isn't great. The main room doesn't have a light in it besides the entry light and that doesn't illuminate the room well. The kitchen has two lights however very awkwardly placed extremely close giving the kitchen way more light than needed. Dining area and bathroom are very well lit. Lastly is the bedroom. There's a single light in the closet. The light switch in the room affects two of the outlets on one of the walls giving you a switch for lamps or your own purchased lighting. Other than these things opening the blinds and letting in natural light is your only other option. Last bad point is the washer and dryer. While being able to do laundry in your own apartment was nice, where other complexes don't have laundry units or have a communal one on property, they aren't all that great. I had to call maintenance for my washer 3 times during my time there and even with smaller loads, the dryer took 3 full cycles to dry my clothing. For a few positives, the staff is very vocal with anything going on onsite. They leave notices on the doors of any buildings being affected by pressure washing, or road cleaning next to specific parking spots being done. As for complaints (as I made one about my parking space), they put notices to all apartments afterwards about making sure numbered spots aren't being used by those that they don't belong to. Same notices are put up for people not picking up after their animals. Another positive is location. Within 10 miles, there is a Wal-Mart, Safeway, Home Depot, Costco, dozens of restaurants (both sit down and fast food) and tons more. Overall, not a bad experience, but I wouldn't recommend living here unless you make well over that 3x rent in case of emergencies."
"We just moved into our 3rd apartment here in this complex since we really don't want to leave the Madison. We love it here. I have 2 little ones and we feel safe here. The staff is super friendly (Mary). She is really helpful. I call her multiple times a day when we are going through the apartment moving process. She never had an attitude although I'm sure I'm being annoying asking the same questions for reassurance. The 2 bedrooms are so roomy and I love all the closet space. I don't get how people left reviews saying these apartments are ghetto because it's actually really nice here. It's a clean apartment complex and the maintenance are quick to come and repair anything you need. I have so much good to say about this place simply because of the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The parking situation isn't terrible but if you have visitors constantly then of course that will be an issue. Overall, I totally recommend this place!"
