About the Business
Sidaway Bridge is a historic tourist attraction located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. This suspension bridge, built in 1930, spans Kingsbury Run, connecting the Kinsman Road neighborhood to the Jackowo Polish neighborhood. Originally constructed to bring these two communities together, the bridge has been closed since the 1966 Hough Riots. Despite its closure, Sidaway Bridge remains a symbol of the past, representing the racial tensions and urban renewal efforts that have affected the surrounding neighborhoods. The bridge's rich history, including its connection to the Cleveland Torso Murders and the desegregation of Cleveland's public schools, adds to its significance as a cultural landmark. As the bridge awaits repair and reopening, it stands as a reminder of the challenges faced by these communities and the potential for reconciliation and unity in the future.

"Lots of history made at this site. A great way to see it for myself"
"Great piece of history even if it needs to be restored & cleaned up. It's not visible except through trees close up, but can be seen from the route 10 bridge. The ends of the bridge are in parts of town where you need to be careful."
"An important part of the city's history. Visit in winter and you can see it clearly."
"I stopped to see it on Halloween this year and had a really hard time trying to find a nice clear view of it. It was very grown over."
