"Such a cool little spot with some amazing information and artifacts. Terrible the things women weren't permitted to do by men back in the beginning of aviation and beyond."
"What a beautiful hidden historical gem! This free admission collection is housed in the Burke Lakefront Airport which harkens back to small local airports of old times. It is not for commercial jets, so is small and houses several aviation based businesses and organizations. It is situated along a beautiful lake view. The collection is arranged chronologically and highlights these pioneering women's lives both personally and professionally. There is a wonderful balance of admiration for their tenacity and acknowledgment of the privilege needed to attain their aviation goals. It is obvious that the exhibit was set up with accessibility in mind. The parking is plentiful and the entrance is an automatic door with no threshold. The displays are low enough to be seen from a wheelchair and there are buttons to speak and light up the displays. The only thing I was unable to say that others could was the control display of one of the flight simulators. The gift shop is within the offices of the two employees who were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great place for those who need a quiet environment without big crowds."
"This is a small FREE museum located in the Burke Lakefront Airport building. They feature women in Aviation. They have some historical artifacts, a plane, some simulators, as well as historical information about Amelia Earhart, Ruth Nichols, Katharine Wright and several more women. It is very spacious and the museum is very clean. The information is interesting and includes women that have been in outer space too. Well worth the time to visit."
"What an amazing area. You can really see a deep history of the first person in space to the aircraft from the 1900s'. I've definitely learned a lot about the history of these amazing brave women. I definitely recommend visiting this museum. What I thought was interesting is that there is still a working airport there."
"Great little museum to walk through at no cost (It’s Free) I would say you spend about 1 hour looking into the amazing history of women’s aviation from all over the world. The museum is located inside a smaller private airport. There are a few small planes inside along with interesting exhibits. It is walking distance from the Rock and Roll museum. I would say it’s just about a half mile away."
