Reviews of Acropolis Hotel
"Used to live here a few years ago, was pretty cheap. Had decent Internet. Good hot water. Cant complain too much. Only downside was I wasn't allowed to have a microwave or toaster due to the power grid system. Even hair dryers the too much power and it takes out the power in t least 4 rooms.being near a bar was great though."
"It's not a hotel. It's an 1800s building that used to be a hotel and has now been subdivided into apartments. The common misconception, while inaccurate, is fair. This is because the building is still coded as a hotel...usps doesn't deliver on Saturday AND (deep breath) I can't get an internet or cable service to even glance at me because my address pings back as a buisness...a hotel. This probably hasn't been the case since turn of the century but I'm guessing there is an advantage to remaining a commercial property as it's located primarily above store fronts in a commercial district. I however pay by the month.... It does come with an absolutely amazing antique porcelain over iron claw foot bathtub that holds a climate change nightmare amount of water!"

"I lived here some years back. The manager was the same man, Ron. I had a great time here and got along great with Ron. I was from out of state and didn't know many people and he befriended me, helping me get my things from my car after an accident the day I moved to the city. During the time I spent there he did lots of things for me, taking me smelt dipping which I had never done, taking me to watch boxing at the Rose Garden, even making sure I had a place to go to eat dinner on Thanksgiving. So, gruff? Maybe to a softie who doesn't take the time to get to know him, but for a person like me, he reminded me of the great people back home. Ron is an amazing guy. Additionally, yes it is less expensive which invites people who can afford less expensive digs. To manage a place that has less expensive rent and some interesting characters a little gruffness gets the job done right. Yes the building is dated but I guess it takes a person with some character to really appreciate the place. If you aren't that person then don't move there, but if you are, move in and enjoy. It has more character in its entryway than most places do in the entire building. You won't forget your time here."
