"Rebecca Wooden at ALMEA Insurance went above and beyond to help me and give me solid information about health care insurance at a time when she was incredibly busy and likely would not stand to earn much, if any, financial gain from our discussion. In my interaction with her, she was positive, understanding, patient, encouraging and very pleasant to talk with. I needed to find a health insurance plan through The Marketplace; a friend in New Orleans connected me with his insurance agent there who sent me a list of Portland area insurance agents from which I chose ALMEA and Rebecca. I liked it that they are a BBB Accredited business. Their website is easy to follow and has links to good articles and information about the ACA. It was nearing the end of the day on Jan. 30, an incredibly busy time for health insurance agents as the deadline for enrollment in the ACA was Jan. 31. I didn’t really know how Rebecca might help me but it was very much worth the call. She understood right away that I cannot afford a stand-alone insurance policy and that I needed the tax subsidy I’d get through the ACA. Rebecca took time to explain the important differences between policies, such as how to compare co-pays/co-insurance, deductibles and premiums and gave me good insight about insurance providers in Oregon. Even while she didn’t stand to gain much financially, if at all, Rebecca was generous with her time and expertise. While we were on the phone, she needed to take a call from a client who was in distress. I could tell that she cared about that client. We got off the phone and she took the call. And Rebecca called me right back to continue our conversation until she felt that I had the information I needed to make a smart choice for health insurance. She asked that I let her know that I made it through the plan selection process without difficulty. Later in the evening, I emailed Rebecca with the good news that I felt secure in my plan choice based on our discussion that afternoon. She wrote back quickly, was glad to hear from me and once again, positive and supportive. I would definitely call on Rebecca Wooden again if/when my health insurance needs change."
"First off, I have been a client of A.L. insurance for 4 years. I started receiving emails that they were merging with another company and that they were making a lot of policy changes, but assured me that I didn't need to change anything. So fast forward a few months and I receive notice from the CCB that my business insurance was about to expire... with no regard from the insurance company WHATSOEVER. So with multiple attempts to contact them to figure out what I need to pay.. no response... no one ever answers the phone. So I went in and what person by this point wouldn't be upset? I told the receptionist that I don't appreciate being sent to voice mail and NEVER getting a return call... her response? I certainly don't like having technical glitches and I don't appreciate being talked to like THAT. Really? So then as the phone rang and she was answering... she continued her fabricated lie about having technical difficulties and was answering the phone by saying we are having technical difficulties... can you hear me? She told me my agent was on a personal call on her cell phone... I waited for I don't know a couple minutes and I now decided to take my business elsewhere. Plenty of other companies that can handle tecnical glitches and have a receptionist that can have a little understanding for a person's frustration. Way to go girly..."
