"My grandson has been attending Marysville Cooperative Preschool now for about two years, and as a retired Early Child Educator I love the play-based approach to learning. My grandson has been so happy attending the school, and one time when I visited to pick him up, I saw how all of the staff and the parents who help are so nurturing and supportive. As a grandmother you want the best for your grand-children, and I truly felt the attention and positivity that the children were getting. I would highly recommend Marysville Cooperative Preschool to anyone looking to give your child that solid positive experience before kindergarten."
"I enrolled my daughter in the 4-5s class this past September, and was so excited for her to get socialization with kids her age and to also learn alongside them. This big event was a lot for my daughter to handle as well as myself: a new environment with new people. We found that the other parents, kids, and their teacher were like a familial unit, we all got along so well. There was frequent communication from their teacher as well as the class advisor. I thought we were so lucky to have found a place that we were both learning to love. Then, their teacher was fired in December. Right before Christmas, while all of us were on winter break. We were blindsided and dumbfounded: where was this even coming from? We all LOVED and trusted their teacher, so what happened? The only answers we received were a plethora of copy+paste generic emails giving us zero insight as to what happened. When we did find out the reasoning for her termination, not even from the executive board, all I could feel was anger. When the executive board members finally informed us that there would be a meeting to discuss the school's plans going forward, all of us parents went with mama/papa bear instincts. The only answers we got when asking the board members why they did this so suddenly, why isn't there already a new teacher to replace her, and why none of us parents (the ones who actually matter aside from the kids) even got a say in their decision, were: "We cannot disclose anything, we wish we could but we can't" "We didn't want to make this decision because that means more work for us and time away from our families" "We did this for the kids". When any of us parents voiced our concerns and our opinions, we were greeted with snickering and eye rolling from the so called "professional executive board members". Nothing we said mattered, and their decision to terminate the only hard working and trustworthy teacher at that school was not done with the kids in mind. They made their decision based on heresay and biases, like petty mean girls in high school. If anyone is thinking about enrolling their children into this preschool, know that to the executive board members you and your children do not matter to them. Decisions that directly affect your children will be made without you. If you raise concerns you will be gaslighted and treated with attitude. Follow the entire 2023-2024 4-5s class and get far away from this preschool."
"We love Marysville Cooperative Preschool! The child-led, play-based curriculum allows kids to move freely between activities during the day, with a little circle and snack time in the mix. Outdoor play every day, rain or shine. My oldest loves her teacher and her school and her little sister can't wait to join her next year! As a parent and a human being, the thing I love most is that a cooperative program naturally attracts families who share some of my core values of understanding, communication, accountability and life-long learning."
"This school year has been a wonderful experience so far. There have been many reasons why we love this school. My son, who didn’t have much social interaction before has really blossomed. He is more inquisitive about play time, empathetic towards friends and family and genuinely excited to go to school and be with his teacher and all the kids. It’s heartwarming knowing that he has something of his own that is special to him at such a young age. I, as a parent, have also developed genuine relationships with other parents that also feel connected to their children’s education and want to be a part of a community that is safe and fun for all. With this being a Co-Op it is has been really great for our family because we have had the chance to be involved in the classroom, and with the daily business and activities that the school provides. It has been encouraging knowing that we as parents have a say in the environment that our children to get to be in. I will recommend this preschool to families long after mine have moved on to primary elementary school."
"My sister and cousin came to this school 20 years ago and I heard nothing but good from my mom so we enrolled our child this year and she has grown so much! It has taught her routine, patience, independence, and more. She has thrived in this school more than any other activities I have put her in. Not only has she built some friendships but I have built some amazing relationships with the other parents as well! Community is big. I love the co op model and being so involved with my child’s school and learning. I would highly recommend this co op to any parent!"
