"The Palace Hotel has such a nice quirky Victorian ambiance, you can tell they take pride in honoring the history of the place. We came for a weekend getaway to unwind from a hectic work week; the first night was wonderfully restful and we enjoyed a quiet night and were able to sleep great. However, the second night was terrible! We were awoken up with loud banging and yelling that went on for hours, so we were unable to sleep at all. We found out the next day that there was a violent domestic situation in a nearby room and the police had to show up and address it. We were so exhausted the next morning that we left very early to head home and get some rest."
"The Palace is a gem located in one of the cutest little towns the upper peninsula has to offer. Especially for the price per night you have to check it out. The staff were friendly and gave good dinner recommendations. The rooms are what really shine about this place you can tell that the owners have made this hotel a passion every inch is decorated in a vintage theme that gives so much charm. The room itself was beautiful and very comfortable my only complaint would be it was quite cold! But considering the fact that it’s an old Victorian building with large gorgeous windows I quickly forgot about it!! Would recommend to everyone!"
"Been here multiple times and it's always great. We have never had any issues or complaints about anything. Rooms are cozy and clean with a very 'old time' feel. The building itself is amazing on the inside and you'll likely find yourself taking a look around on your way to your room. There's parking in the back everything you want to do in Port Townsend is within walking distance."
"My wife and I stayed there a couple of weeks ago (room 12) and thoroughly loved it. The rooms were cleaner than any hotel I have EVER stayed in, the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful and the views from our room were amazing. The hotel itself is a trip back in time. They were updated to the point of improved efficiency (modern wiring, TV, refrigerator, microwave, etc) but still maintained some of the pictures and fixtures from the early 1900's. Just going for a walk through the hotel was fascinating with sitting rooms, a library even a game room (not talking video games here) with lots of board games and puzzles to use. The area that the hotel was located was right across the street from the pier and fairy dock and only about 2 miles from Fort Worden State Park (a must see). The whole downtown area is part of the historic registry. If we ever have a chance, we will be back. It was an amazing trip. Thank-you"
"We stayed two evenings in room #9. It was a spacious room with a kitchen and separate living room area. Loved the Victorian decor and ambiance of this hotel. The historic stories and mysteries surrounding it are intriguing. We had a ghostly encounter the first evening when we slept. Got awaken at 5:30am to the sounds of fingernails swirling in circles on the sheets then felt them scratch my back up and down lightly as well. I had smelled perfume and cigar smoke prior to that. After that my husband saw the hallway lights turn off and on and we both saw a small light up on the ceiling. The next evening was uneventful. The lack of stairs definitely give you a workout if you bring a bunch of luggage. It's a beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our stay."
