"Hotel amenities are generally nice, and the people are overall pretty good, service took a hit because I parked in the parking garage and slipped down the stairs during the rain, there's more moss on these stairs than the redwood forest, this is simply dangerous, it's a shame too the rest of the hotel was pretty ok. Now I can't enjoy Portland."
"I booked a room here the weekend I proposed to my significant other. The experience was great for the price. The hotel property is a gem that I hope continues to be well cared for long into the future. The hotel is very well appointed and curated. The decor is tasteful, and extremely welcoming. The hotel room was clean, though aging but understandably. We stayed in room #830. Cracks in the drywall in the bathroom ceiling and a strong smell of mildew. Room was large, and the bed was rather nice. Pillows and bedsheets were clean and enjoyable. Walk in closet was extremely large. Mini fridge and safe were cleverly hidden in the tv stand. Plenty of wall sockets and several USB ports for charging devices. Ordered breakfast from Gracie's the next morning. Food was great. Although extremely surprised the hotel has a restaurant clearly in the lobby, but doesn't provide room service. Not sure what that's about... Post COVID lack of staff? Management needs to fix this. There is absolutely zero excuse for no room service. The restaurant is inside the hotel lobby and is clearly a very central part of the hotels business. The hotel staff were all great, except for the gentleman we checked out with this morning. He was dismissive and acted like we were bothering him. Someone is clearly having a bad morning.... But not me or my new fiancee!!! ~holla~"
"We stayed for 3 nights. The Wi-Fi went down on the third night at around 11pm! When asked, they said there’s nothing they could do about it until morning. That was unpleasant. Also, on the second day I requested the front-staff for some housekeeping. I was told off by a very rude employee that housekeeping requests are to be made 24 hours in advance. I’ve personally never heard of that before. Rooms are super small and old. Id say this is a 2 star at best and overpriced."
"We stayed at the Hotel DeLuxe for three nights and apart from the size of the room, it was anything but deLuxe. It reminded us of The Grand Budapest Hotel in terms of it being long past its heyday. The lady that checked us in was not all friendly and this set the tone for the rest of our stay. The room was dirty and the furniture was worn and damaged. Our room was opposite a large construction site which was noisy and from the size of the hole in the ground, is going to be on site for the next couple of years. The ice machine was very dirty and desperatley needs cleaning out. There was only one lift in opperation for the duration of our stay so it took a long time to get in/out. The hotel charged us over $100 in 'aminity fees' for 3 nights - I have no idea what this is supposed to include. The hotel was unable to provide us with a bill when we checked out and no one asked us how our stay was. When we left, there was a homeless person wielding a large pair of scissors/shears around on the pavement which was scary. Overall, we were dissapointed."
"This 100 year hotel is a gem! It is a quick ride to Washington Park and the perfect place to drop in for a night of relaxation. Between the old Hollywood theme, the indulgent Driftwood Lounge, and the attention to creature comforts throughout, you will not be disappointed. Best of all are the amazing staff, who truly shone during my stay."
