"We stayed at Wilder and Pine over Christmas, and had an absolutely lovely experience. On our first night, we were a bit hesitant about our stay, as we’d found a handful of concerns around the room, and noticed the hot tub wasn’t working. We sent a message to Lisa, the onsite manager, and she was very responsive. The guests before us had shattered champagne glasses in the hot tub with a cheers, and so it had to be drained and rewarmed, which hadn’t gone to plan for no fault of anyone’s. Lisa allowed us to use a vacant soaking tub, and addressed the other small concerns we’d had with plans, like oiling the bathroom door that was stuck open. We ended up having the magical Christmas morning on the river that we’d hoped for! Even our young son was thrilled with the space and walkability of the location. He’s 4 and was able to walk into the town for food and shopping, for reference. We were incredibly pleased with the kindness and ongoing enthusiasm by Lisa and it turned our entire trip around. We’ll definitely be returning. Thank you, Lisa!"
"Riverside rustic rental cabins on the Columbia River. Easy to find. Not fancy but very comfortable and restful. Hot tubs for most cabins, some more secluded than others. Freight trains go by 24/7 so deal with it. Comfy foam earplugs are provided. I used them and slept soundly. Nice walking destinations everywhere (a distillery with tasting and tours is 2 blocks away). Big green lawns and magnificent views up and down the Gorge. The absolute best Jedi level hostess Lisa is in charge in the best possible way, she made the place welcoming and well appointed. Thoughtful amenities everywhere. Worth the shekels to stay a few days to relax and recharge."
"Overall- I would recommend this as a lovely, romantic getaway. Beautiful views, lovely soaking tubs all set the scene for an amazing weekend The rooms are clean, the decor is perfect for a log cabin, and the property is within walking distance of everything Stevenson has to offer. They are also within easy driving distance to Hood River Other reviews have mentioned train noise. Honestly, we weren’t disturbed by the train at all. And I am a very light sleeper- the train seemed like white background noise when I did hear it The ONLY unfixable issue we had was our actual cabin. Cabin 8 is not in an ideal location for romance or privacy. The hot tub sits exposed to the road, parking area and park. If your weekend goal is for secluded privacy, avoid cabin 8 All that being said I want to give the manager Lisa 5 stars for her amazing attention. She deserves all the credit for making sure we felt heard, and making things right - all without asking her to"
"Our stay here felt a little disappointing. The website made Wilder and Pine look like a secluded yet fancy getaway. In reality, it felt like we were in the middle of a public park much of the time as the small waterfront access is a launching point for the water sporting public. The cabins are clustered together and right next to public parking (pretty busy during the day!) The website does mention the trains but if you stay in cabin 8 as we did, you hear the train throughout the night (especially if the windows are open!) Even if you’re a deep sleeper I’d recommend ear plugs. I thought it was strange there wasn’t a picture of a hot tub for cabin 8 (as it clearly said this room had a private one) but when we arrived I realized it was the only cabin with a regular old hot tub (no cool stone soaking tub) - false advertisement! Also the hot tub is kept at 100 degrees so it felt lukewarm. The cabin was clean and clearly renovated to be modern/cozy.. Cabin 8 felt like a tiny home and wasn’t quite as glamorous as I thought it would be. The cabins themselves were pleasant, just not what we were expecting! Pictures can stretch the truth is all I’m getting at ;)"
"Absolutely fantastic! A luxury stay with everything you need. Lisa who runs the cabins is also brilliant and on hand for anything you need. We paddled up the river with the on-site kayaks which was an added bonus. The cabins are super cozy with incredible decks and the tub was super hot for soaking and enjoying the stars. We loved sharing the deck with our neighbours - lovely to meet new people and their amazing dogs. BBQ and fire pits between all the cabins are great too. Highly recommend you stay here. Also visit the dam visitor centre down the road super interesting!"
