"Sun Retreat Came on the Veterans Day weekend and stayed for 5 days we have been Diamond members for quite a few years a watched if go from 5 stat to a 2 And given that because of staff. This weekend was a tremendous change. Only reason not 5 stars is its not there yet with the renovations still a work in progress but can see it happening there’s a lot of things that need upgrading and realize it’s going to take time but ones it’s finished will be a 5 star again Thank you Richard Lanyon"
"I have gone to Sun Retreats since I was a child (it was named Beachwood before) I have always enjoyed the little getaway we have here. The new owners are doing a lot of renovations and improving it which is nice, I only wish they had renovated the pool in the winter so that it could’ve been ready for this summer."
"Great location, currently undergoing a fairly major overhaul under new management/ownership. Will be an awesome location once site pads, pools and clubhouses are finished being updated. Borders state park so typically quiet area, nice and close (short bike ride) to Birch Bay businesses and beach!"
"We camp here and always enjoy it, this time the adult pool and hottub were closed for renovations… so the adults and kids shared the other sides pool - no life guard to make kids behave was the only real downside. And the new owners of the resort are not going to have entertainment or do the breakfasts anymore so they will probably lose a lot of the regulars that have camped here their whole life It will be sad for the community to lose friends who are like family I noticed the difference and missed a lot of great people."
