"Our experience was less than pleasurable. We have been around boats most of our lives and have owned many, so we had some pretty high expectations based on how we kept our boats. If you are planning to stay on this boat you must be prepared for some very rustic and less then modern accommodations. We stayed in the aft cabin which is designed for someone of short stature, no more than 5'5'. The head didn't work , and there is no shower. The ventilation is limited so make sure that it is not to hot when you stay. The boat in our opinion is in really bad shape, it needs a great deal of maintenance and repair to make it even close to ideal. To top it off the boat next to us was partying well into the night with load music and talking so be prepared."
"We came in late Friday night and Laura was very accommodating and willing to meet us when our ferry came in. She was standing and ready as soon as we arrived. She greeted us and gave us a little history on the boat, checked us in and let us settle. We felt very at home.! The breakfast was absolutely amazing and we were full until dinner! Stay here and you won't regret it."
"This is a wonderful B&B! The innkeepers had terrific suggestions for activities to do on the island. Breakfast on the deck was particularly memorable. Staying on this boat really made our visit to the San Juan Islands feel special. - Michele and Paul (Brooklyn, NY)"
"Very nice views. We could see sea planes and taking off landing while having breakfast. Our breakfast was custom-made by the owner : coffee and delicious french toasts. We had a private bedroom, living room, and a bathroom. We also had access to a shared kitchen. The bathroom was a bit small. The owners were nice people."
"We stayed at the Wharfside Bed and Breakfast aboard the Slow Season over Memorial Day weekend 2010 and loved EVERY minute of our stay! Ilsa and Helmuth were the most amazing hosts I (as a frequenter of fine B&B's) have ever encountered. My husband and I stayed in the aft cabin and were charmed by the decor, the most comfortable sheets in the world, and the subtle sounds of waking in a marina. It rained on us the entire weekend, but we were not deterred! Our hosts gave us lots of pointers of where to spend time on the island, including where to find the best fish and chips, and where to see wild foxes. The breakfasts each morning were unique and delicious, and our stay was truly excellent. This is the only place my husband and I will ever stay on the island from now on! Those who have never stayed aboard a boat (expecially a wooden sailboat) before, be forewarned: space is tight, the aft cabin is not kind to those who are tall, and the bathrooms are tricky for you landlubbers. If you show up with an adventurous spirit and like sailing, you'll LOVE this. If you require ample closet space and cathedral ceilings, you will have to adjust. Trust me, it's worth it!"
